Not so pleasant

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Spa facilities and the view was great
Location: Visit Coco beach for Dinners
We had a large party of 17, Accommodations are not Hilton Standards that you would be used to if you stay at Hilton Hotels, Wi-Fi was problem to get access to al times, Food & Beverage - Dinner Reservations despite being made well in advance with ample information about the large party was not accommodated for at all. Service was tremendously slow. Don't care attitude was the Moto it seemed.

Nice hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Very nice hotel. The one thing that I did not like was not much to do during evening hours. It was getting dark around 7 PM and after dinner there was nothing to do. There was some live music but after 15- 20 minutes you get bored. Everything else was very good. The food was good even that you need to wait for it a little to long, but it was delicious and served nicely. Pool is not to big but nice and clean. We mostly enjoyed the adults area where is peaceful and quiet. The staff of the hotel are the best, very helpful and very polite. The best staff I ever had. If you want to relax in peace and quiet this hotel is for you.

Tranquil paradise

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The hotel itself is fantastic albeit a little aged but magnificently maintained. It was not like I expected it to be at all. I think their Website does it a mis justice in not explaining how the hotel is set up in separate bungalows over what must be a few hundred acres. It has an adult only area with its own beach and pool and bar area which is great for honeymooners (there were lots of those). The common area was loaded with families of all sizes and ages and they seemed to have plenty of activities for kids of all ages. The real star of the hotel is the staff. They are all very friendly and attentive and welcome you as a friend to their home. It's one of the few places I been where the people love working there and it shows. I also recommend getting to Coco beach for a day about 30 minutes away. Costa Rica wasn't even on my radar for a place to visit but I'm so happy I stumbled upon the slice of heaven. I'll be back!

Overall very satisfied!

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Nature, views, unlimited food and drink, hotel staff, pool
Cons: rooms could be better maintained, otherwise, no issues.
Location: Scuba, Coco Beach, Tamarindo, Kayaking, Surfing (hour away, take the shortcut to Tamarindo)
At first we were not too happy with the food at the restaurant by the pool, but soon learned about the other restaurants and they were amazing for being all inclusive. The rooms were clean, staff very friendly! Especially Julio the guy who drives the shuttles that take you to and from your room (because the resort os HUGE). Julio was genuinely the nicest and most helpful Costa Rican we met the whole trip. Drinks seem watered down, but you learn how to order the right things and the bar staff are pretty darn quick, again, impressed since it is all inclusive. Very great place that we didn't want to leave. Rooms are not upscale, but what do you expect. They are far from dingy, a bit above average, but aren't completely immaculate. Mainly the bathroom area needed a touch up. But the bed was very comfortable and sink area was pretty clean. Certain things looked like they needed to be updated a bit, but overall I really can't complain. Would have been perfectly content staying there indefinitely :)

Everything we wanted

Fun, energetic and friendly staff put this hotel over the top for me (JJ, Juan, Jose, Madeleen, Roy and so many more)! Loved the food and having the beach right there was an added bonus. No public hot tub (it's only in the spa) but that wouldn't stop me from coming again!

Perfect honeymoon spot.

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Great place for a honeymoon! Many different food choices most of which are all near each other. Great opportunities for adventure, hiking trails within the resort and free water sports. While it is quite hilly and steep it makes for great unobstructed views and the transportation service is always ready to assist within minutes. To sum it all up great drinks, even better views and friendly staff.

Average Hotel

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Love the bungalow style rooms. Staff was great.
Cons: Need nightly entertainment and more food variety.
Before booking this hotel I read all the reviews but still decided to give it the benefit of the doubt because everyone has their own opinion and many are just picky and negative. But the reviews were right. The food variety is very limited. They ask that everyone make dinner reservations every night in one of their four restaurants. Their gourmet meals are poorly proportioned. You can finish a meal in just one bite. So we decided to just eat at the limited buffet restaurant called "Cosecha", where there is a little more variety. There is very minimal entertainment. No nightly theater shows, just a DJ from 8-10 pm and people sitting around the pool. We were in bed before 10 every night because we got bored. After dinner there is nothing to do. For casino and theater shows you can travel to other hotels about 1/2 hour to 45 min. away or to coco beach 1/2 hour away.
