Nice boutique hotel!Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Poolside/restaurant staff were very friendly. Clean rooms. Beautiful view from the lobby. Convenient and quiet location. Unique layout. Pool!
Cons: The road up to the hotel needs improvement. There was no hair dryer in the room. Safe didn't work.
Location: About 100m from the main strip, close to the beach, close to newer restaurant's, Tamarindo is so small but this location seemed optimal.
It took a few days to really settle in and enjoy the hotel, the staff warmed up, the a/c stopped dripping, you figured out what to eat for breakfast and when to hit the pool. Once that happened we really enjoyed our stay, it's just far enough of the main strip to be nice and secluded but still convenient. The rooms were clean and if you asked the staff was helpful. Now that I've stayed there I would stay again.

2nd stayPosted Jun 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
this was my second stay at this hotel and I must say that it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, nice pools and grounds, a short walk to the beach. I feel this is a great value and hope to stay here again.

The online pictures don't do it justice!Posted Apr 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
We traveled throughout Costa Rica from Colorado for our honeymoon. This hotel was amazing! Great rooms that were comparable to US rooms. Huge bathroom, great AC, beautiful grounds and pools. It was so nice to walk to the beach down the private and safe walkway and yet be off the busy and load Main Street. We would love to stay here again!

This hotel truly is a "Garden of Eden".Posted Apr 8, 2013
Pros: The people and the comfort.
Location: Tamerindo is a small developing resort area in north western Costa Rica with a number of small hotels; no monstrosities yet.
We just returned from Costa Rica where my wife and I travelled with our grandson. We felt very welcome at Hotel El Jardin and got to know most of the staff on a personal basis; this is a small but well designed hotel. We loved our spacious room overlooking the gardens and pools with a glimpse of the Pacific over the trees and rooftops. The room was thoroughly cleaned daily. We enjoyed a free breakfast in the restaurant below and spent our mornings in and out of the pool; our grandson learned to swim on this trip. There was a private stroll down to the main street and beach area and the surf was great at high tide with lots of surfers. There was an activity desk where you could plan your adventures; we went horseback riding, water sliding and zip lining.

Atrocious servicePosted Mar 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
I had the worst possible stay at Jardin del Eden. let me list the reasons... Bad communication - promised us rollout beds/mattresses for a friend who was to join us a couple of days later (at an extra cost) Recanted – not only did they deny the mattresses, they refused to let her stay with us because they had no record of this. This is at midnight once she reaches from the airport, with no one but a security guard who doesn’t speak English but gets his orders from a phantom management on the phone. After an exhausting few hours of finding alternate accommodation for her, we go back to our rooms, only to have them send hotel security (2.00 am) to check the room and confirm that we indeed do not have a third person staying in the room. We were so stressed out for the rest of the night, we dint sleep at all ! No peepholes or chains for security, random men knocking at our doors at unearthly hours, exceptionally bad customer service, unapologetic demeanor the following day for almost 2.5 hours … until we threatened to call the cops because of this very clear security breach I deserve better after spending thousands of dollars for a relaxing couple of days!!! Never ever going back.

Beautiful, luxurious quiet small hotelPosted Mar 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location with a private 100 meter walkway straight to the main street (beach is right across). Only 35 rooms, so it's quiet with a beautiful pool and bar to relax at all day. Bar staff was extremely friendly, people at the front desk were OK.
