“Would definitely stay again”
Had a great stay. Close to the beach and the center of town. Wonderful hotel for the price.
“Tamarindo's Best Kept Secret”
Hotel Flores is the best hidden treasure in Tamarindo... maybe even all of Costa Rica. After my four day stay here, I couldn't wait to give it rave reviews. The service was out-of-this-world, super fantastic, above and beyond amazing. The price was unbeatable (even when compared with travelers and friends who were staying in local hostels) and for the accommodations, food, and friendly people that you encounter at this hotel, I still cannot believe that we were so lucky to stay here. I do not usually prefer to hang around a hotel instead of explore the new place around me, but Hotel Flores drew me in. My boyfriend and I and another couple frequently spent endless hours by the pool- drinking, basking in the sun, and even spotting monkeys in trees that overlook the pool. Come to think of it, I don't think the other couple ever actually left those lounge chairs. The complimentary breakfast complete with juice, fruit, and a typical Costa Rican meal of pinto beans, toast, and eggs was the best that we had our entire trip. The same friendly waitress also cleaned our room top-to-bottom every day. I once asked another woman at the reception desk for some "sol y pimento" in broken Spanish and she made two trips from the front desk to the restaurant to hunt me down some pepper for my handmade guacamole. Fantastico! Fantastico! Fantastico!
“Tama'gringo' getaway”
In all honesty, you don't go to Tamarindo to experience Costa Rica. Hotel Flores, however, was a nice little step away from the hussle and bussle of sellers of stuff and an okay beach. The pool is nice and simple, underneath the cover of palm trees. The rooms are very nice and slightly unexpected, considering the surrounding area of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you intend to go to Tamarindo, going to Tamarindo, however, is another question.
“Kewl Hotel”
Clean, quiet hotel, right off the main strip in Tamagringo. I didn’t use any of the amenities/services other than WiFi, which was solid. Not much to complain about here. The A/C started dripping water in the room on the last day, seemed like an unforeseen malfunction – but the A/C kept the place cool and dry. There were some ants in the bathroom, which didn’t bother me and I was never bitten/stung; ants are just part of Costa Rica. Price was competitive, I was happy with the value. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
“Great Location!”
My teenage daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Flores for six days and were very pleased with the service. The room was clean and the grounds were well kept. The hotel is located in walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The hotel owner, Ornella, and her son were very helpful and informative.
“Hotel Flores - Good value for the money”
Nice family run hotel off the main strip. Parking in front, security gate, deadbolts on doors, small pool with waterfall. There was traffic noise because our room was at the front. The A/C would not keep constant temperature so there were variations during the night. The grounds are clean and beautiful and the rooms large and well maintained. Room has a safe and a frig. The bath is adequate with a shower. It was clean with plenty of thick towels. The Hotel Flores is very good value for the money in this tourist driven town where dinner for two can easily exceed the cost for 'your room at Hotel Flores for the night. It is an easy five to seven minute walk to the beach along a gravel road. The hotel is close to everything and with a supermarket around the corner is handy because there is no complementary breakfast, but they are working on it!
