“Perfect Vacation Ever!!!”

Hotel La Posada is a paradise in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Everything was perfect, the food is excellent and the pool is really neat. Hacienda Pinilla is an excellent choice for those who search a relaxing vacation. For those who love riding a horse at the beach, they have 41 horses in their horse barn. They have a very private beach club for you to relax and appreciate a beautiful sunset. Long story short, we had our best vacation ever!!!

“Would return in a heartbeat”

When we first arrived, we thought we were very removed from the "action" of the beach but quickly came to appreciate the privacy and quiet of the hotel setting. We were several miles from a beach, but the shuttles were frequent, the beach club was incredible and the service at the Posada was outstanding. The restaurant was elegant and friendly, the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the iguanas that also enjoyed the fruits from the staff. Weather was great, flowers and plants varied and colorful. The Marriott was close by but also was very crowded. We took advantage of the beach club, the horse back riding, the restaurant, walking trails and wildlife. If you want a lot of people around, don't come here but if you enjoy the quiet life it is perfect. If we would return, we would fly into the Liberia airport as it is much closer than San Jose. The town of Tamarindo is several miles away, that is the closest spot for groceries. We also took a catamaran/snorkel trip out of Tamarindo that was arranged by the staff at Posada. This was a great getaway overall..

Its one of the nicest hotel I've been, the rooms, gardens, pool, everything was perfect. The sourrounding are awesome, its a little paradise. I returned in love with this hotel, I can't wait to go back

“Best option for famliies with kids in Guanacaste”

Great experience for our family including 3 little kids. Hotel facilities including access to 5 private beaches is unbeatable. This is my preferred hotel in Guanacaste by far. Restaurant and Bar prices are fine and food is delicious. Beaches are clean, relaxing and kept in very nice condition. Beach Club at playa avellanas is brand new, very nice and comfortable for adults and kids. I plan to keep visiting this hotel at least once every year during summer time.

“Nice place”

Not a huge amount to do around the hotel itself. The bar is closed during the day, which miffed us to be honest. Then we found out that we could get a free 5 minute shuttle bus to the beach club, which is stunning. So all in all, glad nothing was open as we would have probably stayed at the hotel. Food at the hotel was average at best and desk staff a bit unpersonanable. Staff at the beach club are fantastic, so spend as much time there as possible. Rooms are OK, of a bit dated. Would I go back? Hell yeah!

“I expected a little more”

It is a nice place, but for the price I would have expected more. It is supposed to be a 5 stars hotel, but it is not there yet.

This was a beautiful, great place to stay: PROS: Rooms are gorgeous with spa-like decor Beautiful, quiet, serene, relaxing Very close to Playa Langosta and Playa Avellano - the best beaches in the area Close to Lolas, JW Marriott - great local destinations Great breakfast value Great beach club on grounds - awesome drinks Large, spacious rooms Concierge offered great outings, prices CONS: Beds uncomfortable, too firm to our liking & hurt our backs Couldn't get an upgraded to a king, despite availability Isolated, not good for socializing MUST have a car to leave the grounds Not on a beach, but are nearby Area is very spread out, not localized Hot water in most hotels are regular but sporadic with on-demand heating Here are some key points to the area: Tamarindo is the closest town - touristy, dusty, surfer-popular, pretty quiet after 10 The area is not cheap, it's likw American prices You need a car, preferably 4WD, and many of the roads are not paved This is the dry part of the rainforest Jan-May - looked much like the African savannah and was quite brown. If it does rain (a couple times during our stay) the biting bugs come out in force after sunset and mornings Popular weekend destination for locals Sunsets are amazing but occur before 6 I would not bother exchanging money. Most accepts dollars and you recieve change in colons at a 500 exchange rate. We enjoyed staying here, but had we not had several excursions & a car, we'd have gotten bored after a few days.
