Very nice hotel, excellent food.

Pros: pool, restaurants, shows, optional excursions and the beach
Location: The tour in Nicaragua was very interesting, especially a boat tour on the lake of Nicaragua.
This is one of the best resorts I have ever stayed. Everything is good: pool, restaurants, shows, optional excursions and the beach. But if you like snorkeling the place is not for you. The water in the ocean is not clear.

Cons: not enough bathrooms near the pool, and there needs to be a bar outside
The location is fantastic and the food, staff all great. Lacking bathrooms near the pool and would be nice to have a bar outside.

Very nice property in a natural setting.

My wife and I just returned after a week in costa Rica. We have stayed at other Riu Hotels on our trips. This one is of a more modern design. But has the same basic layout and is truly a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed great food and drinks along with excellent service. The hotel is landscaped very nicely and is set on a nice curved beach with natural trees to provide shade. The property is surrounded by hills covered with jungle vegetation which flow down to the ocean on both ends of the beach. You can see a lot of wildlife on the property including turtles in the ocean. The hotel is a forty minute van ride from Liberia Airport.

Great Location and Great Excursions

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: The pools, bars, and restaurants were delightful. Entertainment was great - often comical.
Cons: The tile floors in the rooms were slippery after cleaners had been through. Some of the buffet food was only luke-warm.
Location: The location in a small bay was wonderful. Nowhere to go by foot - had to sign up for trips. ATV excursion was great.
The garden-view room was perfect - I sat on balcony every morning and watched a wonderful variety of birds on the edge of the forest. Very modern rooms and amenities. The variety of food at the buffet was fabulous. The staff throughout the facility were extremely helpful and friendly all the time.

Beautiful beachfront resort.

I enjoyed my stay at this resort. It waz beautiful inside and out. The staff was nice. The food was good. I felt like the rooms could have been cleaned better. There were spider webs in the corners and I kept seeing these tiny little bugs all over. I also saw a spider and some other creature. I probably should have asked for another room but I was too busy out and about enjoying Costa Rica. The drinks were good but I don't think they would be considered "premium" alcohol. The night shows were actually entertaining.

Pros: See above.
Cons: The food. The chrystal was very good. All the other restaurants were average.
Location: Better place to stay (it is a resort after all) than to use as abase for adventures. We did, however, take a river cruise which was fine, if a little
Stayed ten days,: magnificent weather, plenty of entertainment and activity on site.
