Very enjoyable stay.

Loved the facilities - the pools were spectacular. The breakfast was excellent. Drinks and meals were not cheap, but the stay actually ended up costing less than I expected. I would certainly recommend this resort.

The bed seemed always dirty, the sheets seemed like they had not been changed in along time. Staff was not always pleasant and we had I wait for our room even past checkout time.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful even when I became very frustrated after the A/C went out in my room. They happily moved me to another room when they realized the issue would not be fixed that day. View and location are second to none.

Best thing in tamarindo

Posted Jun 5, 2015
If you've never been to Costa Rica you're missing out but if you're used to the ritz and won't take less then this country is not for you. Diria is the best hotel in tamarindo and its walking distance to everything you could possibly need... Shopping, nightlife, etc

Everything at walking distance

Posted Jun 4, 2015
Pros: Central location, quiet (adult) pool area, beach 2 steps from the room, night life at walking distance, dozens of quiet beaches within a 1-hour drive.
Cons: No idea...
Location: Great restaurants in the area, many by the beach but some nice places also away from the beach.
Great restaurants in the area. Not really a rental car required - if you want/need silence and privacy, swim over to Playa Grande.

Never going back there again

Posted Jun 3, 2015
Pros: Complimentary breakfast
Cons: Everything, staff isnt much help, food wasnt anything great, drinks were ridiculously expensive
Location: Walk along the beach, lots of overpriced bars and restaurants
I dont know where to begin, I cant say enough bad things about this place except that i will never go back there. The special "beach view" room was run down, the toilet over flowed, shower didnt work, half the lights were broken the bed was stiff as a board. The beach view rooms are right next to the main road and its very loud all hours of the day and night. The beach view was nice but youre constantly hassled by peddlers selling trinkets so dont even get to enjoy the view . Food was expensive and drinks were outrageous! Dont waste your time and money stay far away from this place.

Excellent resort hotel!

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Great location. Open and airy feel, steps to the beach. Attentive staff.
Cons: The "hawkers" on the beach can be a bit overwhelming at times but so long as you stay on the resort side of the wall you will be ok.
Location: Close to everything. Restaurants, shopping, clubs, bars. Everything is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk.
Stayed for 5 nights from 5/2515 - 5/30/15. Check in was easy and room was available 2 hours ahead of scheduled check-in time. Clean, airy feel, right on the beach with 2 seperate pool areas one on each side of the main road through Tamarindo. Traffic was never an issue as there was a security person there to stop traffic when you needed to cross the sometimes busy street. Close to everything. Easily walkable to just about anyplace you would want to go. Restaurants, clubs, etc are all within a 3 to 5 minute walk. Room was large and clean and updated. No issues at all. Daily buffet breakfast was very good with a large selection of items.

Don't stay at Hotel Diria!

Posted May 26, 2015
We traveled to Tamarindo for a destination wedding. I chose to stay at the Diria and the hotel would not let my friends or family inside the hotel for any reason! This was very upsetting and when I went to speak to the staff about it they told me that there was NO ONE allowed inside the hotel including my family for prostitution reasons! After explaining they were my family members they were very rude to me about it. I would never stay there again unless you plan on spending the trip by yourself!
