Awesome Ocean View

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was awesome and a great way to begin our days.
Cons: The front desk could have a map of where the rooms are that are across the street.
Location: Surfing, eating, and drinking are all within walking distance to the hotel.
For some reason when we arrived we were upgraded to an oceanview/front room. It was just breathtaking and so unexpected. We came back a few days later and were across the street by the adult only pool and didn't have a view and was actually a bit difficult to find as no one showed us a map on where the room would be. Nonetheless it was a nice room and very nice property.

Not friendly staff

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Beach front and the pool
Cons: People training, better management
Location: Restaurants are good. Town is nice
Staff are more concern about foreing people. They don`t like national tourist as ussual in Costa Rica. Check in and check out line don`t exist. There`s a disorder, a mess in the front desk. Also you can`t use your ipad at the restaurant. They don`t let you and they didn`t tell you why. The check in hour that appear in Expedia tell you the check in begins at 2 pm and hotel said that the the check in begin at 3 pm (who`s right).

Needs maintenance

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Beautiful view, very fancy structures. Pool excellent. Restaurants excellent.
Cons: Needs maintenance.
This was obviously a top notch resort when it was newer. The restaurants were very good. It just seems that the grounds and rooms are decaying. Just one example, the ice machine had broken and been removed, it appears some time ago. The bathroom had a large hair ball on the floor, the grout is coming out, the drains are slowww.

Very nice hotel on beach side!

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: The beautiful setting, the cleanliness and security of the hotel is what we liked most!
Cons: It would be nice if they had more comfortable pillows and if the street noise could be reduced.
Location: The locating is a beautiful beach setting. There are options for shopping all around the hotel as well as Beach activities for a fee. There are also e
Overall beautiful setting on the beach side. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back there again. About an hour from the airport. Must be careful leaving the hotel in front due to traffic coming in and out. Our room was on the third floor with a great view of the beach. Awesome palm trees line the property which is separated from the beach by a small rock wall. Beach vendors are prohibited from crossing on to the property. Great breakfast choices and beautiful patio which is shaded very near the beach. Lots of shopping and activities to enjoy (tours and excursions are fairly priced). Overall prices for food and drinks are not bad but not as cheap as we were used to from previous trips. Service at the restaurants was pretty slow in general but the wait staff was very friendly. There is no elevator on the beach side hotel. All in all we had a great trip, made some friends, felt very safe and did not want to come home!

Horrible bartending

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Water system needs lots of work, a constant temperature shower was impossible.
Location: Lots to do in the area location is good.
The battenders at the lounge were absolutely horrible. There attitude was bad and there was absolutely no sense of urgency to wait on anyone. The rooms were way over priced and very dated.

Very nice hotel on west coast of Costa Rica.

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere and the staff
Cons: The room cleaning could be done earlier in the day
Location: Tamarindo is a cozy beach with a lot of local activities available. There are surf lessons available from several local shops, sightseeing/snorkeling
The hospitality exhibited by the hotel staff was exemplary. Every morning a complimentary breakfast with plentiful coffee, fruit, cheeses, waffles and eggs awaited us. The hotel bar/kitchen had very good fare available for reasonable prices other times. The view from the beach was outstanding and the waves perfect size for learning how to surf. The only down side to the resort was the prices for beer and drinks, but that is easily solved by going to the store for beer and sampling the other local restaurants nearby of which here are many.

Great Place/Location!

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: Pools, scenery, staff, location, safe in room, breakfast buffet
Cons: Water pressure in bathroom showers, Prices in restaurants, make hot tub warmer,
Location: Many restaurants bars & nightlife on the strip! Happy Hour always Volcano BBQ, FT's, Eat at Joe's, La Palapa, Wild Panda, Green Papaya, Pagota, more!
We stayed for 9 nights and the hotel staff was attentive accommodating. I booked the vacation months in advance and they were very responsive and helpful to all of my emails. We had clean sheets, towels & soaps every day. We booked our excursions with the hotel a head of time (Andres was the best) but there are so many shops you could definitely find cheaper. There's 2 parts to the hotel one on the beach and one across the street but don't be fooled by across the street... we stayed in the tropical garden rooms across the street and it was nice and quiet and took 2 seconds to walk to the beach. We didn't care about having ocean front rooms because we watched the sunset on the beach every night anyway! We ate at the breakfast buffet that was included every morning and it was delicious! Fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, breads, pastries, jelly, cereal, waffle station with all toppings and a hot section with rice, beans, plantains and you can get your eggs made to order however you want them. We ate at the beach restaurant when we first got there and then Nari for pizza one night and it was good but expensive so we opted for places outside of the resort. The hotel is intertwined with the town of Tamarindo so it's not a completely secluded resort in the middle of nowhere so we could walk to all of the shops, bars, and restaurants and had AMAZING food.. freshest fish I ever had at Volcano BBQ, La Palapa, FTs has amazing burritos and Green Papaya has the best chicken tacos ever!
