NIce "condo" by the beach!!

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: 3 beds, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, back patio, 2 blocks from ocean and 2 blocks from grocery store.
Cons: beds can always be better on vacation as well as pillows.
Location: 2 blocks from ocean, 2 blocks from grocery store and 3 blocks from the main drag.
We stayed there March 6 - 10th. We were very please with the 3 beds and 2 full bathrooms. The full kitchen was great! it appeared we had the entire hotel to ourselves for the first 2 days. It has a back patio too which is great for hanging out wet towels and wet swimsuits to dry. it's only 2 blocks from the beach and only 2 blocks from the grocery store. We would highly recommend Tamarindo Yam!!! Very nice staff, locked from entry way and we felt safe at all times.

Pros: location, rooms
Cons: microwave and a knife
Location: close to everything
the hotel is located close enough from everything at a walking distance, but not so close to have all the noise of the traffic and party. the staff is very nice. rooms are beautiful and comfty.

Location is not central, but place is quiet and relaxing.Staff is polite and helpful. Apartment is very spacious, well equipped and done nicely, but not well mantained and not really clean. Swimming pool is very small. I would recommend this place for a bunch of people with the car-so it will be easy to get around.

Very nice grounds - clean and comfortable

I was quite satisfied with this hotel. The room was reasonably spacious- the kitchen facilities were nice to have. Pros- very secure- the locked gate was nice to have, the employees and owner were eager to help and provided good service, the room and outside areas were very clean and well maintained and the outdoor area was very attractive. Cons- the beds were not the most comfortable though OK, there are only 4 lounge chairs at the pool and the area around the pool is quite small. so it was crowded - full, when the high winds forced us away from the beach.

We had to pay an additional $30 per day as there were 4 persons in the room that is advertised as being for 6 persons. The beds are as hard as the tile floor.

Peaceful but overpriced

Posted Feb 24, 2013
Pros: Quiet and comfortable
Location: Outside the normal tourist zone
Everything was as advertised. The walk to the downtown and the beach was a bit longer than we anticipated but still an easy distance (on gravel road). The one thing we would say is that it was good accommodation and the staff was great, it is in our view overpriced for what you get

Excellent. Would stay again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Tamarindo Yam for a little less than a week in Feb 2013. We had a great experience with the hotel. The hotel is small, but this gives it an intimate, cozy atmosphere. Our room was clean and spacious. Our room was a high ceiling, loft design with 2 bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs). We were surprised at how big the room felt with 2 levels. The hotel also had a small pool which was clean and well-maintained. Hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. Some of the staff speak more English than others. But if you can speak some basic Spanish, you can fill in the communication gap with those that speak less English pretty easily. There were a couple of minor downsides. For beach lovers, the walk to the beach was a little bit longer than I expected. You won't exactly roll out of bed onto the beach. It takes probably about 5 minutes at a relaxed pace (so it's still pretty close). Second, the internet connection seemed a bit irregular. I speculated at the time that our unit might have been at the edge of the WiFi radius. However, in the end having less access to internet made the vacation more relaxing. I don't think either of these downsides takes away from this hotel.

Great hotel with great service

Posted Feb 13, 2013
Just returned from a 10 day stay at Tamarindo Yam in Costa Rica. This boutique hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the main town but provides easy walking access both to the town and the beach. The service of this hotel was top notch and I will recommend staying here to any one interested in a quiet location near the action in Tamarindo.

Big rooms!

Posted Feb 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The rooms are huge, like a loft, with a living room area setup and a functional kitchen. Separate bedroom.
