Gorgeous Condo with beautiful viewPosted Feb 28, 2014
Completely high end, gorgeous four bedroom condo with spectacular ocean views. NOTE: Ocean view, while lovely, does NOT mean OCEAN FRONT. The condo was in fact, FOUR kilometers from the beach club/pool/gym and the ocean itself. We had a car so it was no problem commuting to the beach club daily for access to the beach. However, reliance upon the shuttle system would have been very frustrating, as the one time we did use it, we waited over 30 minutes for the shuttle. Walking the four km was incredible exercise--VERY hilly and very hot--but would not have been possible for young children, making a car a necessity. Also, it is misleading to say that guests who stay in the condominiums have reliable access to the restaurants at the Weston resort property. Priority is given to the Westin all-inclusive guests and although we called for reservations each day, before noon as advised, we were only able to obtain a reservation one of the four nights we stayed.

Nice property, beautiful beachPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Accommodations, staff, beach, beautiful surroundings. Secluded - this was both good and bad.
Cons: Long wait for transportation buses. No place to buy incidentals, snacks, drinks, etc.
Great property adjoining to the Westin resort. The beach was fantastic. Accommodations and staff were very good. Condos were 1-3 miles away from the Beach Club so transportation was needed. This was the worse part of the trip, at times there was an hour wait to be picked up. Food was average, but the price was above average. Great place, but can find better value elsewhere.

Just okPosted Dec 28, 2013
We had reservations for ocean view room. Upon arrival we were told there were no rooms with that description in the property. After a few calls they shifted us to a different complex with that room description. Just the hassle of doing that was a turn off. The bed was very uncomfortable and the faucet in the bathroom was broken. I will not be going back there.

Reserva ConchalPosted Jul 16, 2013
Condo was large and well furnished. Thoughtful details made the stay even more pleasant. The concierge staff was helpful for information and tours. Had one scheduling conflict, probably due to a miscommunication, but it was overcome and ended up a positive. The people and staff of the Reserva Conchal were all helpful, friendly and geniunely interested in us and our trip.

Playa Conchal is a 10-Star Property!!!Posted Apr 30, 2013
We had no idea our "Luxury Ocean View Room" would be such a fully luxurious, gorgeous, spacious, immaculate, spacious room!!! Far more than your typical "box" room with a bed in the middle, this one bedroom unit offered a full kitchen, living room, dining room, patio, private garden, spa bathroom, and a separate powder room bath. Customer service was out of this world! We cannot wait to return!!!

Excellent time!Posted Feb 26, 2013
Pros: The price of food, location, golf course and the pools
Cons: lack of shampoos, cleaning is late and staff says yes when they mean know
Location: Great location right on the beach. Completely private resort, you feel real safe
This was a great experience ... the only difference would be giving us the ocean view we booked. Either way, they made it up to us. These condos are huge, greatly decorated and worth every penny!

A crash pad with a nice pool and good restaurantPosted Feb 25, 2013
Pros: Size of the rooms; spacious, private-feeling beach; nice property; good looking and clean pool; friendly guests; polite staff
Cons: Poor service made you feel like a burden, not like you were on vacation. Clearly a very poorly managed hotel.
Location: Beautiful crescent beach. Enjoyable, long golf course. Pleasant, private beach club.
Nice sized rooms make this a decent option for families who desire space. Be warned: this space comes with a price of really, really poor service. Examples include mopping the spa with cleaning products while customers are trying to relax, sending a mechanic in-and-out of our room instead of disturbing housekeeping's routine to get a new room ready, a restaurant host more interested in purchasing Nike sneakers online than seating guests, taking more than 15 minutes to pour a glass of water, etc. The property is enormous and requires a car, and the rooms feel very private. The quality of the rooms are fine, especially given the amount of space for the money. The exterior of some buildings are not in the greatest of shape, but inside everything was satisfactory. The beach is beautiful, although the water is not great for snorkeling and the Beach Club is enjoyable, especially when the hotel is not setting up for an event. Overall, I liked this hotel for its privacy, the spacious suites and the pleasant surroundings. Room service when available was surprisingly fast, and the food at the restaurant was good. However, overall the service was so unbelievably beyond-words bad that it left a negative impression. If fixed, I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends and family, but in its current state, I would strongly dissuade anyone thinking of staying here to look elsewhere. On a side note, I would also avoid the neighboring Westin, as this hotel was a packed zoo.

First off - this is a beautiful VERY LARGE resort - and having a car is nice driving around in it if you are staying here. Our 1 bdrm unit was 3 km from the beach club and the beach. Neighbours told us you can shorten the hike by cutting thru the Weston Resort, but as we did have a rental car, we never tried it - remember it is very hot and very hilly, so it isn't a simple enjoyable stroll - yes they do shuttle you, but be prepared to wait. Most importantly they did not have the room we booked available for the full 6 days while we were there - and refused to offer an upgrade - instead they would only give us a credit for the Beach Club, which forced us to eat there most evenings - it was much better than nothing, but really - they make a mistake and we get a downgrade rather than an upgrade? The Beach Club is great - food is good and the complimentary breakfast is fantastic. The waiters are friendly and personable. The beach is incredible. The resort is very close to Brasillito and Flamingo Beach areas which have many restaurants. The resort is very quiet and all families and couples. The Malinche has a great pool and that is what we used (no shade - only 2 shade umbrellas), rather than the hike down to the Beach Club - The Bourgonville has just a plunge pool and with little deck area.
