“A Couple at Diria”

Bare in mind this context: gf and my first vacation, we are young and have low expectations and got one of the oceanview rooms. That being said it was awesome and romantic. Great sunsets and great (expectedly expensive) food/drinks. We also took a boat tour. Open bar on the open ocean wins. Also breakfast buffet was full and delicious. The town is very touristy and is basically a few roads filled with tons of bars and restaurants, be they hole-in-the-wall or ultra-chic. We stayed at Diria because we didn't come for the town, we came for the beach and some romance and we got what we wanted.

“Perfect Place in Tamarindo!”

From the location, to the view and everything in between! Diria is a wonderful place to stay in Tamarindo. The staff is exceptional and the building is kept to very high standards.

“Tamarindo Diria”

Hotel rooms were small, but clean. Staff members were very friendly and accommodating! Hotel is right on the beach, a beach front hotel room is a must! Tamarindo is full of restaurants and shops, it even has a small casino. For the most part, I felt very safe! Would highly recommend this hotel!

“Tito's Vac at Tamarindo Diria”

We had a wonderful relaxing time at the Tamarindo Diria. The hotel earns points for its location smack in the middle of a wonderful, long, curving, can't-take-your-eyes-off-of-it beach. The staff is very kind and will respond to any issues with great care. There are several well-maintained pools, breakfast is excellent (fresh waffles, omelettes, tons of fruit, yogurt, juice, baked goods, etc.), and several surfing schools are steps away. Try to get an ocean-facing room if you can. Highly Recommend it. Tito

“We loved it!”

We stayed in one of the classic rooms in the inner corridor facing the street. In front of our door, we had a view of a rock garden with some fountains, which was relaxing at night but might not be appreciated by everyone. One evening, there was live music until 11:00. These are not the quietest rooms. The room was very nice with a large shower and comfortable bed. There is a tennis court that guests can use at no charge. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a fair variety. The beach is beautiful, and we enjoyed long walks and some amazing sunsets. My husband and I agreed that we would not have been comfortable with our two and six year-old at this beach. The waves were large enough for surfing, and there are strong undercurrents. There are several rocks underwater that are not visible at high tide. We saw a couple of people with bloody toes and scrapes that were swimming too near the rocks and got knocked into them by the waves. However, there was a nice kids' pool near the pool by the beach, and we did see several families with young children, so don't rule this out as a destination for a family vacation. Just have realistic expectations about the beach if you have little ones. If you note where the rocks are at low tide, you will be fine. If you want to visit Arenal or Monteverde, be prepared to travel four hours each way. If you want a place to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach, Tamarindo is an excellent choice, and this resort is the only one on the beach.

“SAFE-SOUND-SANITARY PLUS PLUS”

Five minutes from the "Diria Airport" (Formerly Tamarindo Airport). Top notch facility; Rooms, Restaurants, Ocean Front Beach (including surfing), Internet Cafe/WiFi, Secure valuables storage all of which provided with a seemly sincere desire to make visitor comfortable and pleased. While located in the center of "downtown" Tamarindo, the facility is large & complete enough that a visitor doesn't have the need to leave the premise unless inclined to visit the many local shops & food providers.

“Highly recommend”

They keep this hotel immaculate! The staff are friendly and helpful. We had room across the street which was very near the adult pool and a large shady pool. Did not feel we were missing out by not being directly in front of beach. Walk is very short. My only complaint is they hold weddings near these rooms and one night the DJ went on until 11pm and we had to leave for airport at 2am. The concierge desk staff are very helpful. Definitely do the Palo Verde tour. Juan Carlos, the guide is awesome. Breakfast is great with lots of variation. The hotel is right in the middle of town and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shopping. We visited in the middle of April it wasn't very busy which was great with us. We would highly recommend this resort!

“Beautiful property, perfect location!”

Hotel Diria is located centrally, right on the beach in Tamarindo. We didn't need a cab at all. It's a beautiful property with two buildings. We stayed across the street in the back building, with a balcony facing the large pool/ wet bar. In April the hotel seemed fairly empty (which was great!). The pools and the wet bar in the larger back pool are wonderful! Hot tub was cold. The property and rooms are beautiful, and we didn't want to leave! The breakfast buffet each morning was elaborate and delicious, with a variety of options. There is good secure wifi available in the lobby/ front pool area. There are plenty of markets, restaurants, tour companies, banks, etc, within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel has private beach access. I would recommend booking your tours through a local agency, and not through the hotel Activities Desk. We asked about a snorkeling trip, and were given a bit of a "run around" by the man at the desk, who was pressuring us to take a different trip than the one we wanted, saying we didn't have enough people and would have to wait all day to find out, which rescheduled our trip. I felt that he could be getting a kick-back. We went with BlueTrailz in town, and they booked our tour right away. Also, the tour desk quoted us $250 to take a shuttle bus to La Fortuna, and when we booked in online through Gray Line, it was $105 for 3 people. There are just better options for tours and transportation if you shop around town.
