“Excellent Choice!!”
Just returned from San Miguel staying at the new Antigua Capilla B&B. This is a very nice B&B located in a typical and safe neighorhood within a short 10 min. walk down a hill into the center of town and a cheap ($2)taxi ride up the hill after a day of shopping! Inn-keepers and staff are outstanding - very gracious and service oriented. Food is excellent. Rooms are very clean. Beds are heavenly! The view from rooftop overlooking city at night is breath-taking.
“Don't miss this B&B when you stay in San miguel!”
This location is up in the hills a bit and so be prepared for a 10 minute walk to the square. Comfortable walking shoes are absolutely needed in San Miguel and this location offers the most beautiful views; outdoor fireplace and a roof top patio that is outstanding. You will not be disappointed! They preserved a 100 yr old chapel and it stands in the courtyard of the hotel along with a fountain and outdoor fireplace. A great value!!!
“Flawless Perfection!”
Having been in the travel industry over 20 years I go to hotels looking to see what's wrong (occupational hazard). I look to see what my clients might not be happy about, what might be missed. Rarely do I find a property that is truly perfect - I found that at Antigua Capilla. There is nothing missing from this amazing B&B - it is a luxury hotel combined with an elegant small home. Each room is work of Mexican art . The bathrooms are handmade tile with beautiful showers/tubs. The amenities are top notch with flat screen TV's, movies, wireless internet and an IPOD dock. The daily breakfasts are delicious and varied including fresh fruits, homemade granola and full cooked to order specialties. The location is spectacular with views of beautiful San Miguel from the fantastic rooftop terrace. It is a short walk to the center of town and great shopping and sightseeing. The credit for the perfection of this B&B falls to the owners, Maria Antonieta and her husband Francisco. Many people open B&B's because it "sounds fun" and then give up when they realize how much work goes into them. Not this couple! They are experienced innkeepers having owned a B&B in San Francisco before building this wonderful place. Antonieta adds to the charm with her fluent English/Spanish, her attention to detail and her warm personality. I would recommend this property to every one of my clients - it is good for both old, young, single, couples - I can't imagine anyone that would not love it!
“A must in San Miguel de Allende”
The house is so beautiful, you'll want to stay for ever! It is familly owned and they sure know how to do their job. Everything is set to make your stay as confortable as possible. You get a copy of the keys of the hole house and it is just like your home. The property is just 5 min walking distance of everything to visit in San Miguel, hard to find if you dont contact the owners before arrival, but the send you their cell phone numbers a week before and they are always willing to take your call and help you in any requirements you might have. If you visit San Miguel de Allende and you like privicy and small luxury hotel rooms, you must visit this Antigua Capilla. Regards Enrique
“Wonderful place to stay in San Miguel de Allende!!”
My wife and I are long time visitors to San Miguel de Allende and without a doubt our stay at the Antigua Capilla B&B has been our best experience yet. The quality of the accomodations, attention to detail in every aspect is world class. You cannot beat the value of this place anywhere in San Miguel. We cant wait to go back!
“A must pick!”
Francisco and Antonietta (the owners) do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable at their B&B. Everything from providing helpful tips on where to shop, eat, and reserve a tour for you. Staying with them is a pleasant experience, as though you are part of a family. During breakfast, all the guests eat in the morning. There's juice, coffee/tea, granola with yogurt and fresh fruits, and a Mexican style egg entree. For those who have trouble walking up a long hill to the hotel, I recommend getting a taxi, which is very cheap (only 35$ pesos at most). We never needed to take a taxi, and just managed to walk up the hill every day. The only issue is that some areas have no sidewalks and the narrow streets have cars going in both directions. It's about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the center, which is not bad at all. Everything was just great!
“San Miguel's Oasis”
This is the best B & B I have ever stayed at and we stayed for 10 nights. We had a fabulous, always different, breakfast each morning of our stay. The decor of Antigua Capilla's main rooms and courtyard belong in a magazine and the bedrooms are extremely roomy with a lovely gas fireplace, all brick ceiling, beautiful tile work and many pieces of delightful art. The only negative thing is is that it is a steep walk (about 10 minutes) to the downtown and a taxi ride back up the hill. Still very much worth it to be in this oasis. There is also a beautiful roof deck that overlooks the city.
“Antigua Capilla Bed and Breakfast”
The Antigua Capilla Bed and Beakfast is over the top! The owners are very attentive and extremely nice. Our rooms were beautiful, courtyard, roof top scenary was spectacular. The staff, extremely nice and the breakfast was soooo good! I will definitely return. I will not look into a different bed and breakfast no reason too!!!
“May 2012”
Absolutely beautiful in every way. Perfectly located, peaceful, spotless, quite and exceedingly helpful staff.
“Exceptional!”
This B&B is the finest in which we've stayed. I don't think the photos on the website do justice to the reality of the place. While the location is a few minutes (and a slight incline) further than some of the other highly rated hotels and B&Bs in town, my wife and I were extremely pleased with our selection. As if the hospitality and personal attention from the owners wasn't enough, the B&B is immaculate and no expense was spared in the construction and outfitting of the rooms. Unlike some B&Bs in which we've stayed in the past, the Antigua Capilla feels more like a small boutique hotel than being in grandma's home. The owners speak both English and Spanish fluently. Everything in the hotel is made locally, including the large array of artwork and handicrafts. The rooms are large and full of natural light, the beds are very comfortable, the satellite TV is complemented by AppleTV with free first-run movies, and water pressure and temperature are good. Breakfast is traditional Mexican fare at a communal table, complemented by excellent granola and breads. We will definitely return to stay at the Antigua Capilla...
