Great Hotel for the price!

Posted May 3, 2013
Pros: Clean, Nice Staff
Cons: There is no privacy where the toilet is, it has a tiny door and a short wall.
Location: 6 blocks from the main park, but it is a nice walk.
The hotel is very nice and clean, has a good location and the staff was very friendly.

only ok choice

Posted Feb 17, 2013
there was a group of about 50 10 year olds on the bottom two floors, they were very noisy. I think this hotel specializes in tour groups. The food is only fair so you will want to eat elsewhere as there are lots fo good choices. the square is about 10 12 minute walk.

Good lodging choice for middleclass gringos

Location is down hill from city center - fine for people who like to walk. Courtesy breakfast is a plus. Best rates are mid-week although some discount might be available for weekends when staying a week or more.

More or less good.

Good central location. Adequate parking. Room was small and lacked doors on shower and toilet. Also plumbing didn't work well. Some of the front desk people didn't speak English, but mostly it was a good old Mexican hotel experience.

Pleasant hacienda-like atmosphere, but hard beds

Posted Dec 30, 2011
Pros: Hacienda-like atmosphere. Clean rooms.
Cons: Hard mattress.
Location: Not downtown, but within easy walking distance of the main attractions of the downtown area.
My wife and I stayed here for an overnight trip to San Miguel de Allende and were pleased with the hotel. PROS: It was very clean. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. We felt secure (San Miguel is a safe city). The courtyard was pleasant. It is an easy walk to either the center plaza or to the artisan market, but grab a free tourist map because not all the streets are straight or always go through. Free parking if you bring your own car. Continental breakfast is included. It is basic, but enough to get you started for the day. CONS: Hotel beds in Mexico tend to be on the hard side, and this hotel was no exception. Sadly, my wife and I did not sleep well due to the hard mattress. The climate in this region is very moderate, but it can get cold overnight in the winter. The rooms do not have air conditioning or heat, but provide fans for summer and blankets for winter. Dress in layers so you can bundle up in the morning and evening, and then have lighter clothes during the heat of the day.
