“Nice stay in Camino Real”
Good service, nice hotel.

An overall great experience. About the only mistake was that our two rooms were listed as separate reservations. They were able to change them to connected rooms.
“Good but no heat air conditioner.”
The hotel is ok. the rooms nice and clean, the pool is not heated, and the air condition do not work on heat, so my kids got sick because it is cold now at night. walking is a store where you can buy groseries. the room food service is 24hrs and delicious.
“Love Guanajuato -what?”
We went to Guanajuato for new year's. The city was amazing, so I would highly recommend this destination for those willing and able to use spanish. Its in the heart of Mexico, so English only tourists will find basic things more difficult. As far as the hotel, outside appearance is amazing, terraced into the hill for an enhanced arcitectural appearance. The staff was great, helpful, and so on. However, when we were checking in, they showed us a room with two rooms and great domed ceiling, and then gave us a different room with side by side beds; We had trouble with the heater, which had an old controller- we finally got it to work, but it was a hassle; then, when we were checking out, they tried to stick us with 2 extra meals - Someone else had signed our room number and got a freebie buffet breakfast. No ID was checked, or anything. -So they did a poor job on the details. This left a bad taste in our mouth after having a really great three days in a very beautiful city. I hcecked "yes" on the recommend Q., but I would really check around before I return to this hotel. I don't like surprises at checkout, and there are several otrher options in the city.

we put at the door handle the sign for the maid NOT to go in, but they kept doing it after we adviced the reception about this issue.
“This is not Camino Real Quality!”
People was really nice, everybody apologize at all time about the conditions of the hotel. People at the front desk were ok, although we have a little complaint about them. The day we arrived, we got there at 2:30 pm, check in is at 3:00 pm, but they gave us a room fast so we could go out and eat. We were waiting for a second room, but we took the first one so we could be out in the city right away. By the time we came back, approximately 5:20 pm they did not have a room ready for us yet! That was almost two and a half hours after check in time! We decided to go to the pool area so we could wait for our room. Only to find out that the pool is missing tiles, the pools floor is swollen, and it was dirty at all times! The gym is located at the end of the hotel and its setting is not inviting! A couple machines are rusty and it does not have music or A/C on. This is not what I was expecting from a Camino Real hotel! It is a shame that their quality has gone down so sharply!

Nice, clean Hotel. Staff was attentive. Not a !!Wow!! but still very good price/quality/location if you are going to Guanajuato and plan to walk around a lot.
