Nice PlacePosted Feb 28, 2015
Cons: Tell people about the noise levels at front of the hotel when possible
Loved the hotel, unfortunately staying at the front of the hotel facing the park is a bit noisy at night and in the morning starts at 5:30 am...so i would suggest take a room at the back of hotel, stayed there before and they were nice, bigger and quiet!

Great hotel in guanajuatoPosted Feb 28, 2015
Very charming hotel in the best location in the city. Noisy at night, but if you close the wood shutters room becomes very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel lobby has some great paintings depicting scenes from past century in Guanajuato. I would stay there again.

Perfect location.Posted Feb 26, 2015
The hotel was the house of an important person in the past, ilthey have it nicely decirated. Good food, good service. The only thing was that the room we got was connected to another by a door and we could hear everything. Child crying etc. For the rest it was perfect.

Great charming old hotel in central GuanajuatoPosted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: Its charming, old not perfect but comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. As with the whole of Guanajuato its also extremely safe.
Cons: Its old, they keep up with the maintenance but its not a Holiday Inn, bathrooms are small in the rooms on the front but plenty of hot water !
Location: The best location in the city, you can walk everywhere or get a taxi anywhere for a couple of bucks. Bus system is also excellent and dirt cheap.
I've stayed here 3 times in the last 8 months. Its a grand old building, lots of character. Its right in the center of the busiest and most beautiful square in the city. The rooms on the front are great but noisy, due to the mariachi bands that play until the early hours of the morning, its just part of the character of real Mexico. The patio bar is a great place to sit and have a glass of wine and watch the world go by and very reasonable. The rooms are old but comfortable ...the place was the Prussian consulate back in the mid 1800's and still retains that elegant feel, there's some great tile work and a world class ceramics collection just off the main lobby. You can get onto the roof of the hotel easily, there is a Jacuzzi but I've never seen it full but the view up there is charming as you look across the roofs of the city.

NoisyPosted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: If you can tolerate the noise, the location could not be better.
Cons: It's Mexico. Plumbing and electric are typical Mexico. One morning the shower choices were hot and hotter. Another morning the hot water had run out.
Location: Location is perfect for tourists.
The best feature of this hotel is its location. It is in the center of El Centro. The worst feature of this hotel is its location. Very noisy day and night. If you can tolerate the outside noise consider this hotel.

Construction and indifferencePosted Jan 25, 2015
This hotel has seen better days. The rooms are large enough and clean but there is a lack of attention to detail. For example, the pipe for the shower head was so long it had the water stream hitting you right in the face and forcing one to stand against the opposite wall. The biggest annoyance while we were there was that the very worn carpet was being replaced with fake wood. We spent three days with major noise and dust, and having to squeeze around work. The staff ignores people. One telling illustration was the hotels restaurant, which has a lovely terrace setting right on the Jardin Union. Friday night while every other restaurant was packed this one was completely empty. People were waiting to get in next store while 20 plus tables sit empty at the Posada Santa Fe.

Great hotel, great locationPosted Jan 14, 2015
Stayed in this hotel with some family members and we had 3 beautiful rooms. Beautiful antique and rustic hotel and very traditional. Very clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful and eager to please. Fantastic location - right in the town centre where it's all happening. One of the nicest hotels I've stated in.
