“An art lovers paradise!!”

See above!! re: travel experience. This hotel is for the physically fit- not suitable for the elderly or ambulatory disabled or even small children...otherwise a magical experience.

“Charming, well-located, funky and great staff. Couldn't have asked for better.”

This rambling hotel is not for people who have difficulty walking, though some of our group did and made it. There are lots of stairs. But we had an excellent experience. It is near everything and closes to the Rivera museum. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only problems we had were with the computer service, which we only got to work at the last minute. Wifi is advertised but needs some work. Generally, highly recommended, unless you intend to spend time on the web.

“Best place to know Guanajuato up and close”

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to all city attractions. The hotel requires a lot of walking as it has multiple levels with no elevator - a minor inconvenience if you like walking cities but a major one if you require handicap access. The staff is friendly and readily available to help. Parking is not close so this is not a hotel if you dislike walking. If you want to get to know Guanajuato up and close by walking its streets this is the place.

“Great location and service; Charming room”

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights in February. The location was great, the help was friendly, and the room was charming! We were surprised at how quiet it was, considering how close it was to all the action. There was plenty of help getting our luggage up the rather daunting stairway. Everything that we wanted to see in the city was within walking distance. We would certainly stay here again the next time we are in Guanajuato.

This hotel had great character, wonderful location, huge breakfast included with our room (although not necessairiy gourmet quality, it was very filling and lots to choose from), very nice staff. Other guests in our adjacent rooms tended to be very noisy in the hallway late at night, but it was "Semena Santa", so we could not really complain. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

“A quick stay at Meson de los Poetas”

We spent just one night at this hotel, since we wanted to be closer to the Leon airport for a 7:20 a.m. flight. Being on the top floor was a bit of a climb for seniors, but we had a quiet and comfortable room and that was good--especially since we read that this can be a noisy city. The staff arranged for a cab to pick us up and 5:00 a.m. and it was there on time. Plus they gave us a 4:30 wake-up call as promised. We had hoped for a breakfast roll to take to the airport, since we'd paid for bed AND breakfast, but they could not accommodate this request. I feel we made a good choice in choosing this hotel. It gave us charm and comfort--just what we wanted.

“too basic”

Hotel has a quirky charm and is certainly clean and well located, but I found it rather too basic and not comfortable enough. Bathroom was clean but really rather stark. Ok for the younger set, but not really a comfortable hotel. I'd stay somewhere else next time.

Basic rooms. Noisy, echoing corredors. Dodgy bathroom. This hotel is nice from far but far from nice.
