Good locationPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Location and cleanliness.
Cons: Expedia room booking led me to a less desireable room. I think staff should ensure prebooked/prepaid rooms are the better rooms, not the cheapest.
I've stayed before, and will continue to book at this hotel. It is walking distance from the train station and very convenient for the kind of shopping I need. Also convenient to many amenities. My room had a great view of the train station, it overlooks a treed park like setting, and great for people watching too. I always book room with breakfast. some of the rooms are not large, so even when I prebook the room I may ask to see other rooms rather than settle on the first one offered. The rates go up a lot during Canton Fair time, so I'd recommend getting a prepaid prebooked expedia rate if travel plans coincide with Canton Fair

Nice hotel but in a horrible locationPosted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: Room cleanliness and comfort.
Location: Terrible location next to the Railway station and central bus stations where it is always noisy and crowded and smelly.
Nice clean room and reasonably helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Restaurants are located nearby. This hotel is actually next to the Guangzhou Railway station and is close to the main bus stations but I would not recommend staying in this area unless you don't mind the huge crowds of people, cigarette smoke everywhere and the filth. Although it's supposed to be near the Metro but getting to the Metro itself can be a struggle against the smoke, crowds and filth.

Nice budget hotel centrally locatedPosted Nov 6, 2013
Pros: Location, Location, Location. Budget - I paid about 400RMB but you can get it as low as 200RMB - just meet the guys hawking rooms just outside
Cons: Service Language - I think a problem anywhere in China
Location: Already mentioned in my review above
If you want a business / work stay, this hotel is to go for. Located right next to Central station, you have the metro just there and easy access to almost all market places / wholesale markets. Breakfast is fairly ok, with sufficient (but not exorbitant) variety - enough for a good fill. Vegetarians can make do with bread / butter / fruit / OJ / steamed vegetable / noodles. Otherwise China can be difficult for vegetarians. McD & KFC are next door, so is 7/11, so comfort foods are available. Rooms are small but clean. Try to insist on a front room facing the station. Mine was a terrible view at the side-back with construction taking place adjacent. Not that I had time to fret - I was visiting for the Canton fair, so hardly had time to be in the room. This is a good place to spend the nights but not a place to be during the day.

Good location but over pricedPosted Oct 27, 2013
I have stayed there for one week , hotel staff very friendly but they do not speak English you need to use body language most of the time. They do provide free shuttle for canton-fair . The beds are very hard , then you will use to it . I think this hotel is good for first time travelers only for 2 days then you can find better Hotel 2 times cheaper in same area. Good luck

Served my purposePosted Oct 24, 2013
It served my purpose . There was breakfast, and the location was convenient to me. The staff spoke English and I saw them organize trips to the Canton trade fair very well, although I did not go myself. However, there was one big minus. Everyday it was impossible to sleep before mid night because there was a construction work going on in the same hotel building annex. It was noisy. I could not understand why paying customers cannot be alloyed to rest in their rooms, nor why the construction work had to extend to night time. The room I stayed in was also very small, but I don't know if it is commensurate with the rate I paid.

Could be so much betterPosted Oct 22, 2013
There are no facilities. The corridor carpets are unbelievably worn. My bedroom floors were terribly worn also. Reception staff don't smile. And very limited English spoken

Baiyun HotelPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The staff were very helpful - would not accept tips!
Location: Guangzhou Railway station. Metro station which give good links to the airport and the Express railway station. Bus station nearby. Good restaurants
Found all the staff very tolerant As I speak nearly no mandarin or Chinese. Help me solve several problems as I had to stay a few days in Zhuhia , and still leave a lot of stuff in my room. For what I paid excellent value. The hotel is very close to the Guangzhou railway station and Metro and an very good underground link to the Square the hotel is close to (7 yuan - taxi costs about 200 yuan) wished I'd know on arrival could have made great saving. Line goes through to the high speed trains from Guangzhou South Station for the fast intercity connections. The Hotel is very good and cooperative. Would recommended it to anyone. 2 beautiful parks nearby. Only downside is the traffic control outside for the station. But would use again if I go to Guangzhou.

Good LocationPosted Oct 5, 2013
Cons: Front desk needs to call the customers in order, instead of the customers swarm in.
Location: Almost near everywhere, if you know how to take a bus or subway.
I would stay here again in the future. Nice location, however stay away from the train station area. Just go straight to the subway exit E, then you can reach everywhere in GuangZhou.
