Cons: The only recomendation is to use the slippers that is provided otherwise your socks will turn black on the bottom.
Location: Close the Guangzhou Fairs
The room we stayed was spacious with lots of amenities. The nice touch was complimentary fruit and water in the room after a long flight into China. The hotel's chinese restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet serves a very good variety of western and asian food mix. The only problem we had was a broken sink that leaked water and the smell the came from the drains and we believe it was because we stayed on the last floor…this problem was solved when we asked to be moved to a another room at a lower floor. We stayed at this hotel mainly because it is one of the official hotel for the Guangzhou Fairs and they run shuttle buses to and from the Fair. I am just not sure if the rates are lower when the Guangzhou Fairs is not on.

Nice Hotel with good ServicesPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: It is convenience for us to go to trade show with their shuttle bus services.
Location: Also, it is a good location for shopping and restaurants are close by too.
We would recommend this hotel and this is our second time stayed in this hotel. They surprised me with gift basket with fruits, sweets and wine on my birthday. Excellent customer service and comfortable.

Best Canton Fair hotel in 25 yearsPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: No English problem with any staff. English channels on TV Modern restrooms off lobby locale
Location: Relatively quiet central city location with nearby convenient stores, MacDonalds and Starbucks.
I have stayed in many 3 and 4 star hotels in Guangzhou over the last 25 years attending the bi-annual Canton fair. Grand Int'l is the nicest I have experienced and one of very few 4 star Guangzhou hotels that really are 4 star.

Good four stars hotelPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Quite and Clean
Cons: Speed-up the services
Location: Close to subway and shops
Issue with the electronic key 1. The card could not open my room. The one of the hotel staff took my card, ran downstairs but she had never returned. I had to go back to the front desk and explained the sistuation. They checked my passport again and gave me another room. Overall, it takes more then half an hour for me to have a room. 2. On the second day I came back late at night. I could not open the door. The hotel staff asked me to show him my passport which I did not carry with me. I told him I left my passport in my room if they open the door, I can get my passport. It's simple but taken 15 minutes. Overall, the hotel is good value for money

Quite and ComfortPosted Oct 13, 2013
Cons: Selection of foods
Location: Near shops but far from subway
Love this hotel because it's not too expensive for a standard room. Hotel staffs can speak some English which is great. It is very challenging to stay in some Chinese hotels where the staffs could not speak English.

Good Hotel in GZPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: Clean and Confort
Cons: English speaking staffs
Location: 20 minutes from Linhexi Metro Exit C. Shopping centre across the road. Nearby Starbucks, McDonald's and Cafe
I booked the business room for 5 days. The hotel is excellent but the location is a little bit far from the subway. It takes approximately 20 minutes walk but only 2 minutes by taxi. The bus stop is in front of the hotel but most of the time I have to wait for 15-20 minutes. If you cannot speak Chinese, you are better walk or take the taxi. No bus driver can speak English. Only front desk staffs can speak English. The restaurant is great but too expensive. A dinner for two costs more then 1000 RMB with a couple of glasses of wine. Breakfast and lunch are great. Breakfast is reasonable price but lunch is also expensive. I don't expect the upper class Chinese hotels charge similar as well known 5 stars hotels. The business room is clean and comfortable.

good value hotel in guangzhouPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: great value
Cons: include breakfast, but I never lack for eating during my trips; so, no big deal.
Location: across the street from a mega Park n' Shop, many coffee shops and other restaurants. Not in the city center, as a tourist would want.
great value in a very good location for shopping and coffee shops (4 within a 2 minute walk).

Pool not for familyPosted Jun 13, 2013
The pool is dissappointing, as they let outside people come and swim laps and make it crowded; definitely not for children or family. The rest very good

Quite, Clean but Distant.Posted Apr 21, 2013
Clean, professional staff and breakfast food is quite good. On the quiet side of the city, not many restaurants in the surrounding but Starbucks and other coffee shops are next doors. It's quite distant from metro subway station, not quite convenient unless you take taxi but traffic can be heavy. TIPS: From airport, take A3 exit and find bus stop no. 6, cost RMB 21 Take first stop (about 40-50 minutes depending on traffic) then take taxi to the hotel. This will save you money. Also, hotel not quite well known by people so I suggest you have a printout of hotel information and address in CHINESE (google the hotel name, you'll find the hotel website in chinese). Even taxi drivers have tough time figuring out hotel and address in English.

Convienent to fair grounds & trainPosted Apr 20, 2013
Pros: Good friendly hotel just needs some updating
Cons: Location to train station and Canton Fair
Location: On a busy street so their are some things to do.
Staff is friendly and goes out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was OK but hot things could have been at least warmer. Only negative is the room needed upgrading. Carpet needs to be cleaned not just vacuumed. Wallpaper is starting to peel off the wall at the paper seams.
