Pros: The hotel is clean
Cons: the breakfast needs to be improved.
Location: Actually you can't do anything near the hotel. The good thing about the hotel is close to subway station.

OK for the rate and locationPosted Jul 8, 2013
Located near Guangzhou East Railway station, about 1 hour by taxi from the airport. A modern new hotel with local style eateries and fruit shops within walking distance. Some taxi driver will find the location somewhat difficult to navigate because of many one way streets. Limited choice of food at its own restaurant.

extremly horrible!Posted Jul 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
my fiance booked the room, i like it however the soundings is extremely bad. i can only walk for 15 mins to find a lunch place. the service is not sweet at all. after i find a fruit plate in the room, i confirmed with the reception that its free. soon, some one knocked the door saying the reception reminded her there is fruit in my room, and she wanted to take it back since its not for me. feels bad! the sheet is not clean, i find some light spots on the sheet and the sheet is very wet, feels uncomfortable. i dont know if its beco of the weather there. wats worse, after i went back i found an extremely big bug on the wall, i called the service to catch it :( i wont stay there anymore even if its free!

newly renovated clean with comfortable hotel roomPosted Jun 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean and comfortable hotel for customers who understands Chinese, for front desk staff do not speak English and/or Cantonese. Location is hard to find as hotel does not give good direction coming from the metro or the railway station on its wed page. If you take metro line 1, get off at Railway East station, exit F. walk up ~ 20 steps and turn right immediately after exiting F, pass two alley and turn right on a street looks like an alley but is a narrow street. look up and you will see the J hotel sign at the end of the street. It is a good 10 minutes walk from exit F to the hotel. Other option is to take a taxi but must have the hotel address written in Chinese. Restaurants in surrounding area without air conditioning and proper seating are for locals. Shopping is unavailable. Hotel room is very comfortable, and I will stay here again with its reasonable cost.

Great hotel for the moneyPosted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: Location and price
Location: Shopping, restaurants
Came to Guangzhou for my wife's visa interview and needed a relatively but nice hotel to stay in. J Hotel was a really great hotel and was close to all the things we needed to do. Can't beat the room, location for the price. Definitely a 4 star in my opinion.

Where are the lifts?Posted May 28, 2013
Pros: rooms and location
Cons: lifts and staff
Location: at the centre of the city with easy proximity to restaurants, canton fair and city highlights.
Everything about this hotel is great including rooms, location, cleanliness, facilities apart from two major things which makes me not recommend this hotel for anyone. 1) Its a 30 story hotel with atleast 8 - 10 rooms in each floor and just 2 small lifts/elevators. Not even a service lift for the staff. Imagine the rush during breakfast hours with people wanting to checkout with their luggage as well. Even worse than a city bus inside the lift. Lost a lot of time and huge inconvenience. 2) The staff knows limited english and you wont be getting much assistance from them.

Comfy four star hotel with two star pricePosted Apr 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Love the hotel. We stayed in the executive twin bed. Room was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It's reasonably clean except for the floor - I wished they vacuumed it every day but it's not a deterrent for me. Price wise it's very cheap compared to what you get. Breakfast is quite excellent with what you usually receive in this price range. Location is about 15 mins walk from the East Guangzhou station exit F - but they do have bus shuttle service to the Canton Fair. It's also a short walk from McDonalds and local restaurants near the university. I'd recommend it to people who wants to visit the Canton Fair. I'll be staying in this hotel too if I ever go back to GZ.

Close to rail station.Posted Apr 20, 2013
J Hotel is close to the rail station so travel from Hong Kong and to Shenzhen is accessible. Best to travel from rail station by short taxi ride because walking is not convenient. Hotel is not close to any major shopping and only a few restaurants. The staff is helpful with some English speaking employees. Hotel offered free bus to Asia Fair. The on site restaurant is limited but well priced. The breakfast buffet is okay however some items are a little scary.
