Renovation NeededPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel seems to be be very old built and needs renovation urgently. The rooms and bathrooms in particular need overhauling of fittings and furniture. The only good thing about the hotel is that staff is very helpful and tries to understand what the guest needs.

What once could have been a quite OK hotel...Posted Jan 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The floor was pretty clean, red-brown smears on the toilet, 2-inch mushrooms in the ceiling, rock hard bed. Nice staff that knew aprox 10 english words, but really wanted to help.

Best Service for the Canton FairPosted May 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
I've been to the Canton Fair 3 times and the last one was the best. I've stayed in 5 and 3 star hotels, and in both the staff just couldn't speak english. The front desk staff at the Miya Hotel was doubled for the days of the fair with interns from the business school of english from some university in the city. The people were very friendly and welcoming, very helpful to all the guest's needs and the hotel offered a shuttle bus to and from the fair. Very convenient. One bad thing is they don't offer breakfast, but they try to make it up by providing some bread and coffee. If you've stayed at a chinese hotel before you know that's probably much better than their breakfast. The location is also not so good, but the neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. Very chinese, not for tourists, but that was very interesting. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Old hotel building but excellent servicePosted Apr 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
I got to stay in the hotel for 3 nights during my visit to the canto fair. The hotel building is pretty aged. In fact the room I am in the window couldn't close properly. In the night mosquitoes comes in. The next day I told the hotel staff about it. THeres nothing much could be done so they use the tape to tape it up and suggest a change of room if I wasn't satisfied. The room and bed is relatively clean but just alittle aged. I guess everything is compenstated by the friendly staff and good service they tries to provide. The staff is friendly greeting every customers that walks in with a smile.

Posted Mar 9, 2011

PerfektPosted Dec 21, 2010 on Hotels.com
