Guaruja is located about 580 miles (933 kilometers) south of the national capital Brasilia and approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) southeast of Sao Paulo.

Guaruja is home to plenty of pretty beachside destinations great for long days in the sun. Eden Beach and Santos Beach are two of the more popular stretches of beach in this coastal location. Pitangueiras Beach and Gonzaga Beach are some of the other coastal destinations in the region.

Discover how brave men and women and other heroes from the past defended their homelands, by taking the family to the city’s various historical forts and strongholds. Two of the most iconic examples here are the Santo Amaro da Barra Grande Fort and the Andradas Fort.

Head beneath the waves and meet some of the ocean's most colorful residents at the Santos Aquarium. Watch rainbows of tropical fish float by and learn about local and exotic species.

If you’d like to have you’re horizons expanded in Guaruja, head to the Fishing Museum and the Museum of Coffee. Of all the collections and museums around, these museums are two of the more recommended.

An iconic religious building, one of the more popular of the many historic sites in the city, is the Santo Antonio do Embare Basilica. Visit this special place to learn about its symbolic significance and then take your time to study its design.
