“Really nice digs”
Found this hotel thru Expedia, and didn't know a thing about Antigua. Tucked in the NW corner, it is not right in the hub of action, but just a block or so away... just right for a wonderful respite from the touristy parts of Antigua. The room was wonderful... we had an upstairs room in the way back with access to what amounted to a private little patio, since ours was the only room which faced it. Only downside was the neighbor's rooster which woke us earlier than we might have liked... Staff was courteous and lovely; an added plus is that unlike some hotels, this one had security access from the street. Also, free wi-fi on a computer in the lobby was nice. Bedding was luxurious by comparison to all other places we stayed in Guatemala, including a very expensive resort in Lake Atitlan. We would definitely consider a stay here again!
“I will go back to the hotel, it was very good service”
Excellent hotel and excellent service, overall staff made us feel like at home and we were treated extremely well.
“Very nice stay!”
Everything was great, except that we could hear a phone ring constantly. We were staying in the room over the reception.
“Next time I go to Antigua I stay there again”
The best place to stay in Antigua for the price.
“Quiet place in Antigua if you get the right room”
The hotel was very cute, charming and small. A bit off the path, however only 3 blocks away from the archway. The hotel was clean, however the rooms on the first floor were a bit too exposed for my taste. If you are staying on the first floor, standard rooms, ask for room 103 or 104. The breakfast was sufficient, for an extra $1 USD, they cooked eggs for us.
“Comfortable Upstairs Room”
My husband and I stayed at the hotel in an upstairs room with high wooden ceilings, plush linens and a lovely view of the garden. The room had nice touches and the tiled bathroom had a sky light. The service at the hotel was great. Everyone was friendly and the location was easy walking distance from the plaza. The downstairs rooms were not as private or nice so I can only speak about the room that we stayed in.
“Clean, friendly, convenient - highly recommend”
We were a couple visiting from Australia and found it to be a very convenient, clean, friendly and secure place to stay. We stayed in the mid-level room which was spacious, had new linen, flat screen cable tv, large bathroom and air-conditioning. Re location it is about a 5minute walk from the main square, 2min from markets and 3mins from the main restaurant area. Great location. Staff were very friendly, spoke fluent English and were very helpful with transfers, directions etc. Would highly recommend this hotel.
“Very good boutique hotel”
The hotel is clean, comfortable and totally recommended. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, although small, clean. Water pressure: excellent! The price is reasonable. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. The wifi works better in the small restaurant and the lobby.
“At Home”
This hotel is a hidden gem. It is beautiful, very helpful and extremely pleasant staff. The hotel was way beyond what I expected it to be. Very beautiful decorated, charming hotel. Extremely clean, and really felt like i was home with the whole atmosphere. The rooms are very private, so i really didn't feel like i was sharing the hotel with anyone, when in reality they were almost full!!
“A charming place to stay”
checking in was easy and painless. Although the exterior was not impressive, inside was a lovely courtyard with attractive and well-tended plants. Rooms were clean and comfortable - it's not a large hotel. A kitchen by the courtyard us well equipped, you can orepare your own breakfast. Continental breakfast is included in the price, or for one dollar more you can have a full American breakfast. An attractive dining area is adjacent. The hotel is secure, and there us a safe in every room. I will go back to Hotel Bernal o my next visit.
