Not quite up to standardPosted Feb 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
I chose this hotel on a last minute business trip to Guatemala City. Stayed for three nights only because I had pre-paid for the entire stay. The hotel looks nice in the pictures but not quite that nice once you are there. The first room they gave me was in a corner but it was dark and smelled of humidity. I switched to another one, but it was also dark, small, poorly insulated and had very old carpet...the type you don't want to touch with your bare feet. The hotel is right under the landing path of airplanes near the airport and has very poor insulation. I slept poorly my 3 nights there. The walls are also very thin so you can hear your neighbor snoring. The gym is a joke: it has one treadmill, one elliptical and one stationary bike; that´s it. People say the food is great< not true. I ordered some nachos for room service...they were so bad i couldn't eat them...I mean what kind of chef can't make nachos! The location is not ideal...its across a main avenue from where you actually want to be, which is Zona 10. The walk is not long, but it doesn't feel as safe. Four positives of this hotel: 1. The free airport shuttle. 2. Good service from the staff. 3. Free internet in your room. 4. The included breakfast. I will not go back, though.

Great hot breakfastPosted Dec 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly staff who mostly speak English. If not they will find someone who does. The rooms are clean and the location is close enough to other major hotels that if in a group you can easily get to them within a few blocks. The breakfast sealed the deal for the next visit as it was hot and great tasting. Make sure you buy it with your hotel package or else it costs $14USD/person.
