The Palace Guayaquil, opened originally in 1958, is a smaller quaint hotel that has been redecorated with a modern touch. The staff is great, both helpful and numerous. The room we stayed in was spacious and very well kept. The hotel restaurant is excellent and I can recommend the locro de papa and caldo de bola for those who are into Ecuadorean cuisine.

It was very reassuring to see the hotel concierge standing with a sign at Guayaquil airport to greet me & it is short few minutes bus ride to the hotel. The complimentary welcome drink in the cocktail bar was a nice gesture, the room & facilities were excellent & the top class patisserie/brasserie in the lobby is a plus. Xavier one of the concierge staff was outstanding in his helpfulness generally & at the airport.

What a great location!
Sitting on the balcony overlooking the river and watching families, kids and couples both local and tourists alike enjoying the parks, restaurants, food kiosks and shops available was fantastic. The Manso guesthouse is situated within walking distance of many of the cities attractions. The huge churches, the Central Park, The market, the iguana park, the Planas and of course the Malecon is just steps away. The staff of the Manso were the best. Helpful, courteous, professional and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

"Super Family Friendly Hotel. Excellent location."
Staff at Unipark was so good to us. We were traveling with our 5 year old daughter, and they went out of their way to make her stay special - hot chocolate at breakfast, extra water and chocolates in the room. They even sent an adorable Unipark teddy bear up to the room for her. "Osito" is her favorite keepsake from our trip!
We loved waking up every morning to the view of the Cathedral and the iguanas basking in the trees at Parque Seminario across the street. It is a short, easy walk to the Municipal Palace and the Malecon 2000 from the hotel.
The hotel is part of a complex called Unicentro, which has eateries, shops, boutiques, ATMs, a bank and more, all accessible without leaving the building. Do a web search for Unicentro Guayaquil for more info.
Breakfast buffet had an excellent selection. I am really going to miss having ceviche for breakfast every morning! Room service comes from the same restaurant as breakfast, and was always deliscious.
I used the excercise room to lift once while we were there. Weights are old school, but they get the job done. Mostly, I ran outside at the Malecon (lovely and felt safe as solo female runner). I recommend taking a cell phone pic of the sign by the 5th floor elevator so you know when the excersize room is open. Hours vary.
Initial musty smell of entry and 2nd floor reception unavoidable in Guayaquil's hot, humid climate. Do not be put off. Rooms are clean and by 3rd day we no longer noticed.

This hotel was top notch. All of the staff were so helpful and nice. Both my husband and I got sick (food poisening) during our stay, on two different nights. The hotel called a doctor to come on both occasions, and when we got our prescriptions the staff went and got them for us. This help and care were priceless, especially when we were totally incapacitated in a foreign city. When we return to Guayaquil, I will stay no where else but here. We ate in the restaurant La Canoa and ordered room service half a dozen times, and the food was always so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this place. Our room was 101 had a killer view of the Park of Iguanas.. awesome!!
