Great location,spacious room with lot of storage,loved the balcony with table and chairs. Bed was very comfortable.Breakfast was ok. Negative thing- Staff doesn’t speak English.Staff wasn’t very friendly(all the men working at the reception). Only friendly person working there was woman with curly hair who made effort to communicate through phone translation.

Don’t let the pics fool you.
Don’t let the pictures fool you; the place looks run down, there are stains on the walls, missing paint, chipped doors, broken furniture, dirty shower, etc. The breakfast is ridiculously basic. We had booked an executive room (with a balcony) and we got a regular room. They refused to move it to another room (apparently they overbooked their executives?) but also refused to refund us the price difference. Also the neighborhood is really dodgy the minute it gets dark. Stay away.

Its is unfortunate for entire team to read this situacion, we are a completely renovated and remodeled hotel in the best area of Guayaquil, we are 1 block from 9 of Octuber and 2 from Malecon 2000, sorround by all the torist, banking and comercial areas. Its not that i work here, but is the best location , a safe zone, security cameras and guards on every corner, we have 5 banks around us. The images that we promote are real, as other guest have posted them, the excutives room does not mean that it is only with balcony, there are 3 rooms that are promoted as excutive , 2 with balcony and 1 with out balcony, the last room is twice the size . Exceutive for us is with 1 KING BED , that we give you. When you check in it was indicated that you have to cancel us, his reservation was to be charged HOTEL COLLECT , he indicated that he wold do it later, on the day of his stay there was no complains, no claim, no observation, only at his check out when he was told that he had to cancel us and he did not cancel because he did not recive the room with a balcony and began to shout at the reception , we had never a situation like this, every thing we have in video, the recepctionist dis not know hopw to react and let him go with out canceling, he never paid and only hurting us with this comment his reservation was HOTEL COLLECT, and Expedia Knows this case. we feel sorry as the hard work we have biult is affected by this comment, since you yourselves can draw your own conclusions.

Very nice stay
Everyone was very nice, helped me up the stairs with my bag. Also, spoke English which was good for me. Near the main street and Malecon, so lots to eat! I felt safe walking around alone. They even made me an early breakfast, and brought it to my room, before my early flight. Also called a taxi to the airport for me. And the room was nice, had everything I needed, including A/C, internet and hot water!

It was very nice, especially after being remodeled. Comfortable and everyone there was very kind and accommodating. We had a problem with our shower drain that first night and after informing them they fixed it right away. They were also knowledgeable of the area, so if it is your first time there they can definitely tell you the best places to go.

Room didn't look as expected
The pictures looked way different than the actual room. The bed frame was ripped up and not pleasant looking. The wifi didn't work at all in the room. The man at the front desk was very kind and friendly though.

Good morning, we are very sorry that you had a bad experience with us, we are always trying to improve and be able to provide you with an excellent service and make your stay comfortable. The photos are exact to our rooms, according to the type of room you chose, some rooms are not a specific one including the Suites, each one has a different design, that's why it is the type of room we put all the ones we have and one of them is the one that is granted. We made the change about the bed, the leather has been sent to reupholster, we regret that. In Wi-Fi our entire building has an excellent signal, we have 2 networks per floor, maybe I take the networks of another number of rooms, all our clients have never had a signal problem, we spoke with the staff, to find out if I request It helps for the inconvenience it presented, but they told us that No, our team is capable of solving any novelty and being able to provide you with the best service. We are sorry for what happened, thank you very much for your review, it helps us to be better.

This is a unique hotel. It seems they’re renovating, which is much needed. The entry is challenging with luggage, since only 1 door opens. The carpet on the stairs is in very bad shape ( not at all safe) but the room was spacious and clean. The lady at the desk spoke some English, which was helpful.

The hotel was right in the middle of Downtown, 3 blocks from Malecon. They are remodeling the rooms during the day which was no problem since we were usually out. This is more of a European style hotel and not American. Staff were great.

This is a nice budget place to stay. Very hot showers, along with good AC, and the room was very clean. There was no microwave or safe in my room, so you may want to check on that if you care. You are two blocks from Malecon 2000 and there's a bus stop right outside the front door. Everything is 2nd floor or higher, also, with an empanada shop on the first floor outside. Outside does get a bit noisy if you have the window open. Again, I had a nice stay and the people at the desk know some English to help you out if needed, as most people in town don't speak any English. Bring small bills, 1's, 5's and coins, as there's not much change to go around when shopping and taxi's.

Hotel is in good location to center of city and malecón. Good bed, the only think is that there is no fan in bathroom. Water is hot, there are plenty places to eat. It was little noisy for some construction but I think that is fine by now. Street noise is no bad at all.

Quayaquill is a beautiful city on the Quayas river. They have a beautiful riverfront Park The La Fontana Hotel is only 2 blocks to the park.

The hotel was clean & close to the Malecon. The staff was helpful. The only problem was the TV screen was VERY bright at night. I'd definitely choose to stay there again.

Nice personnel. Almost no ammenities. Near a Metrovia, the beautiful and famous Malecón (a long walk along the river Guayas), and several interesting places. An awful view from my room; the backs of not beautiful buildings.

OK hotel for a short stay
Upon arrival, the hotel looked a little seedy. It turned out OK and it grew on us. The Staff was very nice and helpful but you better speak Spanish. The room and bed were clean, comfortable yet sparse with furnishings. The bathroom was ok, clean but not real new. Hotel is great for a short stay. It was in a good location.

Bad services and old hotel slow internet dangerous neighborhoods, hard to find, not quite expected, do not used this hotel and do not recommend at all, unpolite people that don't care about customer services, room not clean look like the 80's hotel that never being renovated, photo and web from real life total different. Hotel is not an 24 services hotel at all

this was our most horrible hotel experience we've ever had. the room had a terrible smell. there was hair in the sink and it did not look like it had been cleaned. the walls were cracked with peeling paint. and the shower curtain was covered in black mold. we ended up just leaving even though we were only suposed to be there a few hours until our early morning flight. this place should be shut down by the health inspector. the staff was very nice, but unable to help.

Run down hotel
We stayed at La Fontana for 3 nights. The staff were very unfriendly and unwelcoming on our arrival. The first night our room was awful - broken double bed (we had booked a king room), mirrow had fallen from the wall, bathroom was dirty, toilet roll holder broken and half the bathroom mirror shattered. We asked to move rooms for nights 2 & 3 which was luckily a great decision. The room was cleaner, had a king bed and good shower. Air conditioning in both rooms works well but horrendously noisy. Breakfast was terrible, we chose to eat out instead. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the staff. They did not go out of their way to assist with anything. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Good location. Three blocks from the malecon.
Our first room had some problems like the air conditioning wasn't working very well and the toilet seat was broken. The staff immediately fixed the problem and eventually moved us to another room that was very nice. Breakfast is included and the staff are very friendly..

Good price but you get what you pay for, duh!
No water for first few hours we got there (was told it was b/c cleaning staff had been using water...couldn't shower, toilet water was off. Only provided very basics. Sort of clean enough... We wouldn't go back - next time will pay the extra $$ to go to the Palace or Hampton.
Pretty balcony. Nice breeze at night.
Breakfast. I wouldn't eat it just worried about source... But coffee was pretty good for instant.

We started in a large room for our first night. Then the hotel needed our room for a large group, and moved us into a tiny room for our second night. For our third to fifth nights, we were moved into the deluxe room, which seemed only fair since we had to keep moving our stuff - including from floor to floor. The staff was wonderful, the large room and the deluxe room were great. The small room wasn't worth the price we paid. So, mixed review. Clean, well-located, with a decent breakfast. Helpful and kind staff. Note that the hotel is up one flight of stairs from street level - and the rest of the hotel is on that 2nd floor or the following two storeys. There is no elevator, nor are there lobby boys to assist with luggage. So take that into consideration when you book.

the location is ok... but the service was terrible
I booked a room for three people and we had to bags, pretty heavy, two people are seniors and they had to carry the bag through very steep stairs with nobody helping (two floors), the receptionist was pretty rude and lazy. there´s a coffee area ... with no coffee.. they only have the coffee to prepare for breakfast. The rooms were clean but look kind of old but comfy over all. The people is what makes this place suck!

La fontana is in an excellent location to tour the city by foot. The first night i had to take tje only room left vacant in the hotel as mfy reservation was mixed up due to hurricane sandy (usa). The ac was broken and it was a little shabby as they didn,t normally rent it. Howe er the ne t morning the manager offered me an upgraded suite for the rest of my stay without extra charge. It was fabulous. The manager is very friendly and helpful as are his staff. The manager speaks fluent english also. I would stay here again for the servoce and location.
