Great location and value. I highly recommend this for those looking to watch the budget. This quality of hotel would be double the price anywhere else.

“Glamours Hideaway”

A great location in the center of San Carlos with views to the marina and a vista to the bay and a spectacular pool & Jacuzzi. The excellent restaurant has a generous buffet breakfast or a large menu selection and dinner is best enjoyed with an early cocktail as the sunsets over the marina. Take some time to enjoy the sculptured gardens, very special!

“San Carlos, here we come!!”

The MarinaTerra hotel is right in the center of town and is an integral part of the marina. The restaurant is absolutely "top notch". Great food at very reasonable prices. If you are in the mood for a little more action, the Marina Cantina is less than 200 yards from the marina. There you can watch your favorite sports teams, chat with the captains of the boats in the marina, do nothing, or listen to the locals talk about their community. The hotel itself is very clean and well kept. There was quite a bit of construction on the property. There was a significant amount of damage caused by last year's hurricane. As is typical of most of Mexico's beds, they were no different. They are extremely hard and uncomfortable. I would definitely return, but maybe with an air matress or something to lay on the bed for a little more comfort.

“Nothing Special, but adequate for one night”

Our two-double room (which was not upgraded), was adquate for our one-night stay before a dive trip, beginning the next day. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and tried their best to speak English (while we tried our broken Spanish.) Beds were a little hard/uncomfortable, but not the worse we've slept on. The balconies on the 3rd and 4th floors are tiny (accomodating one chair), but still nice view of marina and pools. Never got to use the pools, but they looked clean and well-maintained. Our traveling companions, who had a king room and a large patio on 2nd floor, actually had a worse time as there was construction going on in the room right above them. When they complained to the staff, nothing was done about it. The white construction dust floated onto their patio (and our breakfasts the next morning) and even went so far into the room. They were definitely not pleased!

“Marinaterra 2012”

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and would go out of their way to help when we needed them. For example, our car broke down while we were there. We had just left the hotel to go looking around, and a short distance away, the car quit running and I had to coast off the road. I walked back to the hotel, and they sent their maintenance men to help us out. After helping me look over a few things (as I didn't have any of my tools with me...which won't happen again), they towed us back to hotel parking lot and spent the rest of the afternoon helping me work on the car. Turned out the timing belt had broken, but the bellman knew a mechanic that came to the hotel and worked on the car. It took two days...but it got fixed and for less than if I had taken it elsewhere. Also, the food and service at the hotel was excellent. We enjoyed eating there very much.

“Very nice clean hotel.”

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Eventhough we rented a car we were able to walk to a lot of places. The wine bar next to the hotel was very nice and the food was good. I did not like the shower not having a shower curtain, the design is made for no curtains however the shower is too small to not have water all over the place, another thing was the pillows the were overstuffed and to high for my short neck.

“Good hotel in San Carlos, Son, MX”

I've stayed at the Marinaterra two times so far for business. The accomodations are comfortable and clean. The desk staff speak very good English. So, checking in, checking out and getting any help is not a problem for those who do not speak Spanish. However, the maids do not speak English, but that's no different than most of the hotels in the US nowadays. The only problem I have is the location. It's a bit far from the airport and downtown Guaymas. But if you are going there on vacation, that should not be a problem.

“Clean hotel but dated with so so staff”

Room was clean but very dated. The staff was OK. The pool area looked really nice, but i cant comment on that, i was there for a day long fishing trip and didnt use any of the hotel ammenities.

“for mexico its good”

If you are using the Marina. This is the best place to stay. On the weekends it seems to fill up with families. Lots of kids having fun.

“Good location and views”

While hotel is in fine location with admirable view of marina and landscape...condition of hotel rooms are vastly in need of upgrade renovation. Made this comment a year ago...saw no change in condition of rooms (11/24/09).
