We had a really lovely stay here and will be returning. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Our room was comfortable and had that 4* appeal. Located on the outskirt of the medina, everything was in walking distance. So we could take the hustle and bustle of the medina or not by staying at our Riad or taking a taxi to the newer part of the city.

Although this Riad is listed as Da Dahlane, it is also known as Riad Mullaoud. They may have knocked the two premises together or changed the name, but have failed to update any travel websites.
The room was pretty standard and came complete with a T.V. and satellite box (broadcasting mainly in French and German). Unfortunately, our ensuite did not have a door to the toilet. When we asked to move to a room that did we were told that this was typical Morroccan style. This was all well and good until we had a peek in the room opposite to us as it was being cleaned and noticed that its toilet did in fact have a door!
Breakfast didn't change much over the week, comprising of: seed bread, danish, coffee, drinking yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, a piece of fruit and a slice of coconut chocolate cake(!). The main problem was that as there hadn't been any rains this year our table was inundated with bees - a problem that could have been remedied if the confiture dish came with a cover...
Negatives aside on the whole the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, they were also happy to give advice on travel routes and the Riad also provided its own excursions (which in hindsight we wish we had taken advantage of).
The roof terrace was quiet a peaceful and the interior decor was lovely, including a water piece that ran through the centre of the building. It is also very close to the main square, souks and La Fonduk - a lovely, if a little pricey - restuarant.

Excellent stay in all areas, apart from the no Wifi in the rooms (you need to bring your laptops to the lobby). However, all staff were friendly and helpful. Pretty much all of them spoke English, so if you don't speak Arabic or French, you can get away with it. The location was great if you like many dining options. Speaking of which, the breakfast was excellent. The only other thing that I didn't like was the lack of a laundry service. As long as laundry or wifi in rooms is not important, this hotel is an excellent place to stay.

Very friendly and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and always had time and a smile for us. Hotel very much arabian night theme which was great. Rooms spacious and kept very clean. Breakfast buffet was varied each day. So there was enough there to please your taste. Swimming pool was nice and private and a bit of a sun trap so easy to relax in this area. Evening meals on offer so no need to search for a restaurant if in a lazy mood. The hotel when asked arranged day trips out for us. Being picked up and dropped off from hotel which was easy and convenient. All in all great holiday great hotel. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.

The hotel is fairly central and you could reach the marketsquare within 20mins. Breakfast is basic. The receptionist speak good English and is friendly and helpful. If you are a light sleeper then watch out for the music outside.

The only really good thing about this hotel is its location. In the heart of the gueliz area, it is a 30-40 minutes walk away from the jema-al-fna. However although it claims to be a 4 star, in actual fact it is more a 2 star. The fixtures and fittings are now well past their prime. However the worst thing is the customer service. Although I must add one individual Jamal, who was very professional and diligent. He was also the only staff member who could speak fluent english. One man can unfortunately not cover the incompetence and unprofessionalism of the other members of staff. Breakfast is basic but adequate. However the service by the breakfast staff was very poor. The eggs were always cold. As were the sausages. Replenishment of food was also slow. The staff members ate breakfast themselves before serving paying customers in the mornings. The staff are in urgent need of intensive customer services training. Dont pay more than 20 dhs to cab for jema-fna. actual fare is 10 dhs.The reason i would recommend this hotel is because the entire city is rundown and in need of maintenance.

This is a good hotel - nice reception, sizeable rooms, good bathroom, tasty breakfast and a pleasant pool area. However, there were some basic comforts I would have routinely expected for which I have reduced the rating. The air conditioning did not work - the weather was in the mid 20s so while not blistering, it was still an issue. Also the rooms were missing some basic things - the fridge did not work (and obviously had nothing in it) and neither did the safe.

I've just returned from 3 nights at this hotel with my boyfriend. The hotel staff were so so lovely and helpful- was very impressed! The hotel itself was really unique in it's design- very lovely architecture. The bed was huge and we had a lovely view from the balcony! Although too cold for us to use the pool it was kept in inpeccable condition. The hotel was only around £3 taxi ride from the main square and we walked to the Yves St Laurent Garden in around 20 -30 mins- very nice location. Building work going on next door but barely noticed it at all!
