RIver view hotel with no view of the river!Posted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: The balcony to sit on and watch people moving about. Especially at night with all the street food vendors.
Cons: Better customer service.
Location: In the heart of the town with many things to see and do around.
The hotel is across a very noisy street with the river on the other side. The trees are tall so no real view of the river to be seen. The room was very clean and it had a balcony which was nice to sit outside and watch all the people mulling about. (very noisy though until very early in the morning however we were there during Chinas second biggest holiday so maybe it quieter other times. There was no coffee/tea maker in the room like it said on Expedia plus there was no microwave or refrigerator to be requested the front desk told me they didn't have them.(expedia misinformed again) The biggest problem for us about this hotel is our toilet was leaking from around the wax ring case there was toilet water constantly on the floor around the toilet where I had to keep putting our towels to stop it from going all over the bathroom floor. I brought this to the front desks attention and their answer was they will fix it when we check out, which was 3 days later. No offer to change the room. They just gave me extra floor mats to place around the toilet to absorb the leaking water.

In a good positionPosted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: proximity to west street
Location: opposite the river and the rafting.... very short walk to west street... market stalls close by...
We didn't actually end up staying here but got the front desk girl to show us a room....neat and tidy nothing over the top or extra special...she was helpful.. we had a drink in the lobby....staff didn't speak much english..I would think it would be a good place top stay if you are on a budget!!

The bed was extremely hard. There were no rooms with double beds, as we had requested on booking. The room had two single beds and they could not be moved together because the furniture in between was word to the wall. The hotel staff spoke very good English, but they were not very friendly.

Very good valuePosted Jun 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The rooms are a little hit & miss here. When we arrived the room we were given on the first floor was ver damp and not great. We were then moved to a second room which was worse than the first! We then payed extra for an upgraded room which although a little dated was very nice and comfortable with charm. The hotels location is perfect and the staff very helpful with excellent English. Would recommend this hotel but be careful with your booking as some rooms are sub-standard.

A good choicePosted Jun 17, 2013
Pros: Efficient internet access on the hotels computers
This hotel is really well positioned centrally in Yangshou but was still remarkably quiet. The room was a good size and well kept and good value. We did not book breakfast but did still choose to eat breakfast at the bar of this hotel as it was good value and we had a few beers every evening also at the bar as it was such good value and a nice spot (the bar was not the one in the main body of the hotel but a few doors along on the corner at the hotel's sister Inn). We stayed at a variety of different levels and prices of accommodation during our tour of China and this was better than the higher starred and more expensive accommodation in other places. Free computer and internet access that is really quick and available all the time was a really bonus and something not readily available at other places we stayed.

Cheap, great location but room was damp and mouldyPosted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, just opposite the river and a few minutes walk to centre of town. Standard room on the ground floor was seriously damp and musty. Damp growing on walls and bathroom was tiny. You had to shower standing next to the toilet and everything would get wet. Very noisy as well as "courtyard view" room looked out to the backyard of neighbors who made lots of noise into early hours. Riverview rooms would have a blocked view as there are a lot of trees in front of the river. Bed sheets had cigarette holes in them and air con was loud and dripped water. The smell of damp was so over powering that your clothes start to smell of it. Would not stay again.

Location is Excellent, right by the river with a nice view, and close to the West street with shopping, bars, restaurants. Room was ok, but in 3rd floor Wi-Fi is very weak. Parking was no problem in a secure yard right behind Staff provide excellent service during the stay and even after, we forgot some items and with just a call they arrange the delivery to our desire destination (inside China). Special thanks to Angela, Kevin and Vivian. We will come back!

A Great Location at a Reasonable RatePosted Apr 23, 2013
Location: A 10 minute walk from the bus station. Not bad but probably worth the cost of a motor-tricycle or cab if you've got luggage.
Some of the staff speak fair English but all are happy to help. I had a room that did not have a view, but it was probably quieter than those facing the street/rive because of the evening revelries. The town is very tourist oriented and you are probably better to buy any tours away from the hotel.

YangshuoPosted Apr 22, 2013
Pros: Air conditioning and the reasonable price.
Cons: Tour prices were slightly inflated, cheaper on the street.
Central hotel close to everything except Guilin airport. Remember when booking, that this hotel is NOT in Guilin, but a ¥300 taxi drive away. It's worth the extra drive.

Great location near but not on the busy West Street. Great value for breakfast, meals and drink.
