“It was worth the $$”
Hotel was worth the money with the convenience and privacy of the beach. There were plenty of chairs available to reserve. The only thing was that I booked for 4 adults and 1 child and when I got there I asked if there was a couch for the 5th person. She said no. When I asked her how I was going to sleep the 5th person she said, " the best way you can find possible". Not so professional but it was nearly midnight when we checked in so I probably wasn't smiling myself. I had to end up renting a roll away bed. No big deal but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that if I book five people that I would not have enough room to sleep the 5th person and would have to rent something extra.
Cafe' Palm Breeze had FABULOUS omelets and the entire buffet was well worth the price. Dinner not so much worth the price but convenient. We did enjoy that everything could be gotten there and we did not have to leave if we didn't want to. It would be nice if the rooms were updated.
Area recommendations
Gulf Shores & Orange Beach was great.
When to go
before late July. Jellyfish come out in the gulf from July to October.
Getting there
Traffic is backed up on Friday evening and Sunday morning. It will take hours to come in on Friday evening and hours to leave if you leave mid morning on Sunday.
Don't take the ferry across Mobile Bay unless you want to pay over twenty dollars and its a long way back if you want turn around.
Dining
The Hangout has stuff going on during the day for kids and the family and had a band on Friday night. But go before 4pm when the traffic gets bad.
Family-friendly activities
The Track got a little bit expensive.
Loved the Happy Shack.
