Great Hotel on the Slopes

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: On the slope, close to rental shops, ski valet, 3 hottubs, quiet comfortable rooms, complementary wine.
Cons: Have a real refrigerator rather than a beverage refrigerator. Complementary parking.
Location: A few restaurants & shops are near the hotel. Most restaurants, shop's/grocery's & gas are located in town. There's snowmobiling & bike rentals too.
The hotel was very nice and a very short walk to the slopes. The hotel is very close to the rental shops too. The king room that my family had was the perfect size, although the kitchenette was a little smaller than we expected and the refrigerator was a beverage fridge so we had to keep larger items in the cooler on the balcony. The rooms were quiet and the beds comfortable, so we were able to get a good night's sleep. The WiFi worked well so we were all able to connect when we wanted too. We really liked having the ski valet, and the pool/sauna/hot tubs. We didn't use the gym or the spa, although the gym was very well equipped. The wine/cider/cookie hour was great! We got to meet some of the other guests and have a couple glasses of wine and my son had a few cookies. The parking is a little limited and they do charge extra for it. I'd definitely recommend booking this hotel.

Ski In / Ski out Crested Butte

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Great location for skiing Crested Butte. Beware, however! When I paid Expedia for the hotel, I thought my stay was paid for. I was hit with an extra fee of about 20% more at check-out for a "Resort Fee". This was unknown to me when I made the reservation, & I feel that Expedia did a poor job of disclosing fees. I was also shocked to learn of the profit margin of over 30% by Expedia- they could do much better for their customers. I would recommend the hotel but suggest you look for a better travel service than Expedia!

Great location

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: The location was wonderful. It's really a great place to gather the group. We always met at the fire pit/biar area just at the base of the ski area.
Cons: The restaurant was friendly, but unorganized, not too tasty and a bit pricey. After two tries, we elected to go elsewhere.
Location: Location is great for rentals, shopping, getting the bus to go downtown. The location for skiing is unsurpassed.
Great location, nicely appointed room, conveniently located to ski rentals, ski slopes, coffee shop and shopping. Covered parking was easy to get to, as well. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nice Getaway to the Mountains

Posted Mar 21, 2014
We aren't skiers but just wanted to watch them come down the mountain. There was a restaurant & bar in the hotel next to the slope where we had a drink & visited with folks. There was a happy hour in the hotel for guests & people were very friendly there also. We plan to come back in the summer & take a lift to the top of the run. The wild flowers should be pretty too. Our room was very comfortable too.

Step onto the slopes.

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Kitchenette, close to slopes, bedding good
Cons: Housekeeping, accessible outlets
Location: Ski, eat, short shuttle ride to town and more activities.
Decent room (King deluxe) with pull-out sofa-bed and kitchenette. Very small bathroom but good storage overall. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Only real issue was housekeeping - perhaps because it was nearing the end of the season, we had issues getting our room cleaned, getting all we needed (soap, towels, bathmat, etc.) and had to ask for more to be sent up regularly. They could also improve the number of outlets available in the room - it's more like the availability in some European hotels than in a typical American hotel. I understand that this is a vacation hotel, but even then, people have so many mobile devices now that more outlets - and in more accessible locations - are really essential.
