Come get away from the hustle and bustle of the fast paced world at our historic hotel. The Forest Queen Hotel was built in 1882, when European miners came to the Rocky Mountains looking for work. Our charming hotel is located in the heart of the mountains, just minutes away from some of the most extreme skiing and mountain biking in the world. The Forest Queen Hotel is the oldest hotel around and the only one located on Elk Avenue, our "Main Street". Just across the street, you'll find the free bus shuttle that will escort you around town or up to Mt Crested Butte. We are also just a few steps to the local shops, fine dining, and the theatre.

“Nice hotel --- too much fragrance in linens”

Very nice room. Friendly staff. NOTE: I would really prefer that this hotel didn't use scented laundry products -- they were very overwhelming!

“gets the job done”

This hotel is above a bar and the room has no tv. It is nicely decorated and the people are friendly and lay back. Parking is not convenient.

“run away”

We loved the historic hotel. The bed was very comfy expescially after a long day of travel. Its was a great place to run away for some quite time.

“Not as good as a Super 8, but twice the price”

The building is suffering subsidence which prevents the doors from opening properly. The owners do seem to be trying to upgrade the hotel, but I don't think the carpet has been vacuumed in months, let alone cleaned. When I booked the hotel, it clearly stated that breakfast would be provided. This is incorrect as there was no breakfast. On the plus side the bed linen was clean For the current quality of the hotel, it is overpriced.
