Nice place for a good price
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: Easy check-in/check-out, space and luxurious feel
Cons: Quality of bed sheets and towels
Location: The City of Crested Butte looked like a fun place to walk around and visit. When we go back to check out the town we will stay at the same lodge.
We got to the lodge late at night (11:30 pm) and checked out early (6:30 am). The room and entire lodge was nice. The furniture is not the most comfortable nor are the rough bed sheets or towels but for this is a luxurious stay for a decent price. (Stayed post-ski season, mid-May). Traveled with our two month old without any problems. There was plenty of space in the room to fit her pack-n-play which was nice. The guy in the next room may not have had the best night though...

tiny room
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Cons: small room, distance from the ski area
The room we had was very very small. it was hardly any room to walk around the bed. It was very strange that the hotel assign such small room to a family of three!!!! they knew in advance that we are three people and need more room. that was very uncomfortable

Great value and service in Crested Butte
Posted Jan 26, 2013
Pros: Convenience, sevice and value
Cons: Room layout and heating
We spent four nights at the Grand this February and had a wonderful stay. Pros - 1. Super conenient to lifts, mountain restaurants and town (very short drive), 2. Fantastic service from all at the hotel from the cleaning staff to the front desk 3. Nice decor 4. Good value 5. Very comfortable beds and bedding Cons - not many, but there are a few. 1. The King Delixe Suite, while big enough has a very bizarre floorplan with the bedroom acting as a hallway in the front. 2. Heating in the suite was poor as both rooms only had one thermostat and one room was always much warmer than the other. 3. Hotel rooms get the best views, not the suites All in all, we would definitely stay there again especially for the value, service and convenience.

Communication and Logistics issues

Pros: Proximity to ski lift and bus.
When I arrived, they didn't have my complete reservation. The staff worked to find the second reservation, but were not able to accommodate adjacent rooms. The hotel also did not offer any discounts for lift tickets.

Great place to get away!
Posted Jan 3, 2012
Pros: close proximity to ski lift and restaurants
Cons: the thermostat was broken in our room, but they fixed immediately when we told them about it
Location: Wished it was not such a long drive from Denver, where we flew into. The flights to surrounding areas was too much for us.
The staff at this hotel and resort were very considerate and genuine. All helped to make this a wonderful getaway for me and my daughter. We appreciated the fact that we felt very special being there. ALL the food at the resort and Crested Butte was magnificent!!! The only that would have been better, was for more snow and more lifts open. But, they have no control over that and we made the most of it. Would highly recommend this hotel and resort to anyone!!!

A perfect place to stay if you would like to ski in Crested Butte. It's walking distance to the base area. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and affordable

Colorado Mountains in Autumn

Pros: Nice room amenities; microwave, refrigerator, hot plate & 2 comfortable king beds.
Location: Secluded ski resort near a small mountain town. Beautiful & fairly quiet.
We were here during the off-season so I can't comment on any of the restaurants or spa because most everything was closed. We stayed here to see the autumn colors in the surrounding mountains. It's very likely we couldn't afford to stay here during the ski season.

Great for recovering after mountain biking

Pros: hot tub
Cons: entrance door from the parking lot not automatic
We were surprised about the cleanliness of the kitchenette in the suite. Everything we needed was available. The room was quite and we slept very well. The hottub was perfect for revovering after a strenous day moutain biking. Next day we were ready for another trail.
