Royal Mulu 70's style in the Jungle - I like it.Posted Mar 20, 2011
I enjoyed my stay at Royal Mulu, it was very chilled and kind of 70's local Malaysian family style. The location is amazing, and arriving there on a motorised 6 person 3 wheeler tuk tuk driven by a man in a safari suit only adds to the 70's James Bond style feel. Whilst the service wasn't first class, the staff were all friendly, genuine local and had a smile just waiting for you if you gave them a chance. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it for anyone that isn't stuck up and expecting to be waited on hand and foot. The included breakfast and dinners were plentiful in amount and okay in quality. The room was 70's wooden old (which I personally liked) and as clean as you can expect for in the middle of the jungle.

The resort was great, but the tours to the Caves were very overpriced. You can get it cheaper at the Park itself.
