Arriving at this hotel at 6pm after a tiring 14 hours driving from Suriname, we were greeted by a security guard who questioned whether if this is the correct hotel we were looking for. Trying to sleep with car alarm going off constantly and music blasting from cars parked just under our window until 5 am was more than annoying. Next morning, we were told that there is a 24 hour night club next door and this rowdiness was normal. I do have an opinion on why we were asked that question by the security guard and it has nothing to do with the rowdiness next door nor the hotel. I have stayed in hotels rated from 3 to 5, now I can say that I have stayed at hotels rated from 1 to 5.

Great locationPosted Nov 13, 2012
Pros: Great location one block from Camp street restaurants
Cons: I would have preferred more traditional Guyanese dishes on the hotel restaurant menu.
Location: Great location one block from Camp street restaurants and the Promenade gardens.
I stayed at the Cara Suites for seven nights. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The hotel is ideally located within a 10 minute walk from Stabroek market. Also, I liked that the hotel is located 1 block from Camp street, a major street with several restaurants to get a late night meal. I enjoyed walking down the busy pedestrian walkway in the middle of Camp street over to Regent street, where the large malls were located. I enjoyed the view of Promenade Gardens, which is located diagonally across the street.
