Very central to the beautiful town of Haarlem.Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: We especially liked the service which offered DVD's to watch for free. Very helpful with older children.
Cons: We had to use cables from different rooms to use the DVD service. We sorted it out ourselves, but I'm sure the staff would have helped if we'd asked.
Location: Frans Hals Museum, plenty of walks and Amserdam if you want. But the best thing is sitting in the square and absorbing the atmosphere.
Absolutely everything needed for a very pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast slightly expensive, but there were plenty of local shops to buy pastries, bread and cheese.

Great hotel - super locationPosted Aug 29, 2014
A great location to explore the city and its sights. Doesn't have its own restaurant but that doesn't matter as so many are nearby. Brilliant pub just a few doors down

City centre break n HaarlemPosted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: It was clean, efficient, quiet and friendly.
Cons: The only noise was of doors closing- it was hard to close them quietly.
Location: visit the city centre, market, and local museums and churches. We generally just walked as the town is lovely with canals and a waterfront.
We needed a central hotel so that we could explore Haarlem, while waiting for the ferry in Ijmuiden. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has recently been re-furbished, and is fresh, bright and cheerful. It is in the centre, but our room was very quiet. There were plenty local bistros and restaurants to choose from, and on Saturday morning there is a large market in the nearby main square. The only problem was parking. The underground carpark is next to the hotel, but does not belong to it. It cost 31 euros to park there for 24 hours. Parking is a problem in Haarlem.

Clean, comfortable hotel in excellent locationPosted Jul 21, 2014
The location of Frans Hals is excellent, with Grote Markt one block away on one side and the canal on the other. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within 2-minute walk and the long shopping street is an easy 5-min walk away.

Not as good as it used to bePosted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Central location
Cons: New bed linen, and updating of room we stayed in.
Location: You are right in the centre of the town and close to all the amenities. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby.
We've been here 3 times now over four years. The first two times the room we had was lovely. This time the room was very small, noisy as a fan was just opposite the window. The bed linen wasn't big enough for the beds, so fell off during the night. The staff weren't very welcoming, and why is it that every other hotel (other than Amsterdam) could find room for our bicycles but not here? The excuse was that it was in the city centre, so were the other hotels in much bigger cities and they found room! The room was tired and someone had a conversation at 4am in the corridor which could be easily heard. We did not have the breakfast at 18.50 euros either.

I went to visit my sister's family in Haarlem. I traveled with my wife and two year old son. We needed peace and quiet and a pretty decent amount of service. We were totally taken care of. I am sure that we were the noisiest room in the hotel. The staff is professional and friendly. The rooms are large and clean. The location could not be better. I will always stay here when in Haarlem. I love the bowls of apples and water dispensers on every floor.

Haarlem is a beautiful city and the Amrath is right where you want to be in the near the Cathedral. Room size was good, and one night I was even given a complimentary upgrade to a suite due to the hotel being quite full. Service was great as well.
