A peaceful, quiet respite in a busy area. Attentive and helpful staff. Doing as lot on a tight budget. Excellent breakfast offerings, tea time, and wine and cheese hour. Very clean and well kept.

More like a bed and breakfast

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Friendly, homey, served breakfast, price. There was reasonable parking across the street.
Cons: Not sure.
Location: We stayed at Stanyan Park Hotel because of its proximity to the USCF hospital. It is uphill but doable.
This hotel seemed quaint and personable. It is has a homey feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived at "tea time", which was nice. And they serve breakfast in the morning.

European Style hotel close to transport

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: European Style, clean, near public transport.
Cons: Parking Options
Location: They have a good list but most of our schedule was already planned.
Actually stayed to visit a conference at Moscone Confernece Center as well as visit some San Francisco friends. Live in the region but a bit long for a day commute.

Small and outdated room

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff. And breakfast was rich.
Cons: Renovate and take care of the smell.
Location: Golden gate park, restaurants, good public transit connections. Note: area is very popular with street youth, if you are uncomfortable with that.
The building is quite old, that's fine, but there was practically nothing in the room which was updated/renovated in the last 3 decades (with the exception of the flat TV). The room was also very small. And the ventilation system can be improved - there was an unpleasant smell in the room (and corridor) most of the time.

Beautiful Victorian Hotel

Posted Apr 25, 2015
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and the room provided all of our needs. The atmosphere was wonderful and quiet. The breakfast and afternoon 'snacks' provided were a very nice touch. Only downfalls for us, they didn't have bottled water available in the room or to purchase and the location was a bit inconvenient to the downtown area, but manageable even with public transportation.

Staff were really accommodating and friendly. Rooms are a bit on the worn side, but comfortable. Breakfast was good.
