Nice hotel, terrible staff

Posted Jan 17, 2015
Pros: Hotel is very clean and comfortable, great breakfast and good location for walking to town or the beach.
Cons: Customer service from the manager down. The only friendly person was the woman cleaning the breakfast area, she had a very welcoming personality.
Location: Good location for walking through town or down to the beach.
Just a horrible check-in experience. No "Hello, how is your day" nothing. I finally said that I was checking in. After some confusion the clerk and manager figured out there was a problem with my Expedia reservation. The manager never even acknowledged my presence let alone apologize for any inconvenience. I left and came back an hour later. Upon my return the manager continued to just ignore my presence and I asked the clerk if I could now check in. She gave me my keys and told me where the room was located. No apologies, nothing. The manager was right next to her busy marking me as checked in with a colored highlighter on a printout. With that kind of technology no wonder my reservation was messed up. I think it's time for the manager to realize that it is the customer who is most important in a service oriented business, not the highlighter. While at the desk I overheard a conversation between a customer and the maid. He asked for his room to be made up and the maid said it was too late (2:30pm). He asked if he could have his sheets changed. The maid ended up handing him a fresh set of sheets to make his own bed. On the upside, rooms were clean and comfy (only flaw was noisy commuter traffic in the morning). They did not skimp on breakfast serving scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, pastries, etc. and even had a very nice interior dinning area to enjoy your meal as well as an outside deck. Would I stay again, no, there are better options in the area.

One night stay

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Cons: better sheets with no stains and a clean look.
Room was Ok. We had to re-arrange the 2 chairs to see the T.V. The sheets were a bit "dingy" and the comforter blanket pretty "lumpy" . The mattress was comfortable. The breakfast was simple and some things were not re-stocked after the first batch of breakfast eaters were through. We showed up for breakfast at 8:30 and we made do with some of what remained. The staff that checked us in were pleasant and helpful.

Just like a nice Best Western.

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Free wifi and the continental breakfast included in the Hotel price.
Cons: HD for the HD TV.
Location: Pretty close to Main st. and you could walk there. The price of this Motel was great considering the additional features that were included. Free HBO.
With the one exception of being right on Pacific Coast Highway this Motel had just about everything you could want. A nice continental breakfast with one of those waffle irons, sausage, and eggs. Good coffee. Big screen HD TV (no HD though but that is common at this price range) and Free wifi that worked pretty well. I did have to reboot the wifi once when it slowed down disconnecting and reconnecting fixed the problem. A convenience store right across the street and you could walk to the beach, I think it was an excellent value and very clean. I would stay there again. They did have black out curtains that worked pretty well for the highway noise.

Not quite up to PAR

Posted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: It was a safe, reasonably priced room that took Pets.
Cons: I'm just guessing that double paned windows and hardyboard siding may Cut down on the street nose.
Everything was normal with this Hotel except we cold not sleep. Until the wee hours of the morning we heard every car that drove by in Hwy 101.

Nice hotel close to a loud street

Posted Dec 12, 2014
The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was good - waffles, fruits, juice. All of the rooms face a street that is very noisy until about midnight. Bring earplugs.

Need new beddings

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: You can take a walk to the beach.
Cons: Change the comforter.
Location: Close to the beach, close to shops.
First thing that caught my eye was the bed cover is old and looks run down. Instead of a smooth covered bed, the comforter has "bumps" inside the quilting. There is no electric plug by the nightstand to plug your phone. The beach is about 20 min walk whic was nice and refreshing. The hotel is also close to shops.

Nice and clean

Posted Nov 29, 2014
We've been coming here a couple times a year for the past several years. We like it because it's clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is plentiful and has a nice variety of foods. The rooms are clean. I like the convenience of having a microwave and refrigerator in the room. We'll be coming back!

Excellent Deal on Coast-Nice, clean & comfy!

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: location, cleanliness and price
Cons: hot tub??
Location: On Hwy 1 just west of HMB Town - San Benito Inn, great brews & live music; 1 mi or so from Pier-Barbara's Fish Trap! up road from Cameron's for burger
Just there for overnight. Friendly, helpful staff; very well maintained property. Nothing fancy, but compared to other places in its price range, I'd go with this one. The fridge in the room's nice for drinks & any leftovers from the nearby restaurants.
