Exceeded expectations.Posted Sep 12, 2013
Location: Haliburton is not far away and any drive in the area is spectacular with the small lakes and wildlife. A photographers dream. See the Wolf Centre.
This Inn provides the perfect couples getaway. Not only is the spa a relaxing experience but the beautiful lake views and sounds are a feast for the soul. Whether you like mingling with the other guests by an evening fire or being alone Sir Sam's has it all. The staff make you feels so welcome and at home. Overall an eligant piece of paradise in the Haliburton Highlands.

beautiful summer venue ... no air conditioning...Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: great staff... beautiful views and food
Cons: need air conditioning for comfort... could barely sleep... décor is old but adequately maintained... food and drink higher than Toronto central prices
Location: I was there to see family nearby... waterskiing and beach facilities very good
room adequate.. not air conditioned... small fan... had to bail out to a distant hotel for comfort... staff excellent... prices all high end.... would recommend only to those who have excess cash....

Our experience at Sir Sam'sPosted Mar 8, 2013
The food was amazing and the price was great for that quality of food. The water spa is very relaxing. You can walk to the ski hill from the resort. We will be going next year for sure.

Wonderful Romantic Getaway - Not for Families!Posted Jan 14, 2013
Location: Bit hard to find when it is dark and rainy! However, beautiful views of Eagle Lake and walking distance to skiing at Sir Sam's.
My 8 year old son and I stayed overnight at this hotel since we were skiing close by. The hotel is old, but well kept. The rooms are lovely - for a couple seeking a romantic getaway. Not an ideal hotel for families or young children. Rooms have one king size bed; two beds are not an option. The indoor pool is adults only. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours. Very accommodating staff, who were friendly to my son and cheerfully moved us to a quieter room. I would consider staying at this hotel again - with my husband, in a top level room.

Very positive experiencePosted Jan 8, 2013
Cons: 2 of the massaging features were not working. Also, no soap in the men's public bathroom.
The staff are courteous and friendly. Our car was trapped in the parking lot after heavy snowfall overnight and a staff came over to help us out. The water-spa was awesome, unfortunately 2 of the water massaging features were out-of-order. Fine dining but quite expensive.

A very romantic spot. I highly recommend the Inn for a quick getaway from the city. The food was excellent. The water spa is incredible. The staff is friendly and relaxed. There's a lovely selection of magazines and dvds that you can take to your room. If you're going, I suggest that you bring your own kettle and french press or bodum if you prefer a strong cup of coffee or hot cup of tea. The closest place to get a good cup of java is quite far away. Also, the mattress in our room was very soft. Not sure if there were firmer mattresses in other rooms.
