Comfortable, Pleasant and Well-kept!

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Cons: Cost for parking/night was a little steep for my liking.
Location: Very well-located, 15-20 minute walk from everything downtown. It's also has a great view of the local outdoor oval; beautiful on a winter evening!
From the moment I entered the hotel to the moment that I left, the staff were extremely nice to deal with and very helpful! The beds were comfortable, and the traditional rooms are quite spacious.

Avoid This Place. Go Somewheres Else...

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
Firstly we were sent to a non renovated room. when we got there, we found hairs in the sheets on the pillows, not to mention it was both beds. We then complained to the front desk were they moved us to a newly renovated room. No hairs on the bed this time, but behind the bathroom door there was a pile of dirt + hairs. It's like housekeeping just pushed their pile there. The mirror had also hundreds of red stains like a kid had slashed a juice box on it. All this being said and seeing the stuff the housekeepers have to work with, these issues seems to be because of the management. It does not make sense that they have the smallest vacuum, to do a whole rooms carpet. The things we've seen could have been easily avoided if someone else inspected the rooms. My suggestion to you is to avoid staying here since the chance of this happening to you are quite high. We tried to wash our newborn in the bath, but the drain wouldn't close. We then called the front desk and they sent the maintenance. They did fix it but the nob to turn was still extremely hard. Not Convenient... I've stayed at the Delta and the Lord Nelson. Those were truly a great hotels you should consider staying at those. This is not a 3.5 star hotel, this is more like a 2 star hotel. Spend your money with another hotel. it is disappointing when the hotels purpose is to rent clean rooms, and after two tries they can't get it right. Overall this was a horrible experience for my family.

Concert Bound

Cons: Pillows too small and flat.
Location: Close proximity to downtown Halifax which you are within walking distance. Close to hospitals.
Stayed overnight. Hotel is nice and great that it has underground parking. Only drawback is the pillows which are small and flat.

Nice option, not d/t, close to Dal/SMU & Hospital

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Food, location
Cons: Elevators.
Location: I can walk to downtown but it is especially close to the QE2 hospital campus and Dalhousie.
Hotel shows it's age a little but it is generally well maintained and staff are very courteous and thorough. Food was surprisingly good. Easy to get everywhere I needed (Dalhousie mainly). It's only a few minutes (10 minute walk) from the downtown core but you save time and money staying here if you are not spending most of your time downtown.

Excellent! Great with pets!

Cons: The breakfast buffet has very little selection for the amount of money. I would skip this next time.
Location: There is outdoor skating within walking distance. Groceries, liquor store and my favourite - Relish!
My family and furry family were made to feel at home here! They were so nice to my large dog and didn't charge any extra for him to stay with me - they even gave him a free suvineer bowl!

Free upgrade to better room, poor sound insulation

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Sound insulation
Location: Hospital
I stayed two nights at this hotel in February. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival, they upgraded my room for free. Unfortunately, the room next to mine was very noisy. The walls are paper thin and all I could hear was the other room all night. The restaurant is decent, but expensive. Good location next to hospital.

Atlantica Hotel Halifax #1

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: It's just a few blocks from the boardwalk. There was a huge skating rink just across the street.
We arrived in the big winter storm, our 5 hours car trip ended up taking 11 hours and when we got to the Atlantica Hotel they upgraded our room from Standard to Gold King bed without having to ask, I found that amazing. The customer service is A1+. I lost all my room keys and parking access card and they replaced them within a minute. The room was spacious and very clean. The room was cleaned everyday with new toiletries. The bed was amazingly comfortable and lots of pillows. Lots of channels on TV. The parking (extra fees) in underground so perfect for winter. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. We have even decided to go back to Nova Scotia this summer with our kids and we are going to be staying at the Atlantica Hotel.

Bad experience

Not a 3.5 star experience for sure... Old property, noisy...
