Close to harbor.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Very close to the harbor.
Cons: Housekeeping could be more prompt. there were not 2 packets for coffee in the morning. had to find someone to get another.
Location: Good location near the harbor and restaurants.
On a 2 night stay, no one came to clean our room all day. We came back to find it still unmade and not refreshed. We spoke to a housekeeper in the hall and she contacted the front desk. They sent someone up after we went out for dinner. Really shouldn't have had to call anyone.

Nice view of the waterfront

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Hotel was in a good location.
Location: Location at the waterfront not to far from the local market. Good restaurants near by.
We stayed on the 7 th floor. The roof top patio is on the eight floor which for us was convenient. The view from the room and patio was awesome. The room was comfortable and seemed larger than most. Over all the room seemed clean but I did have to ask them to change the shower curtain as it was well used and dirty. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. They gave us alot of good information on restaurants. My husband and I did alot of walking. We were up and down the waterfront a few times each day enjoying all the nice patios and entertainment. We were fortunate to be there during the Busker Festival. Amazing how talented the Buskers are. Enjoyed all the shops as well as the casino at the Marriott Waterfront. Left there with a few hundred more than what we came with. That always make for a better holiday! Halifax is a great city, wish we could of stayed longer.

Great, convenient hotel close to the waterfront

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was an excellent place to explore Halifax. Everything you'd need is within walking distance, and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable with great staff. I would absolutely stay here again.

Noisy and icky

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Location was good. Lobby was okay.
Cons: Everything.
Our room was near the elevator and we heard people all night long as well as early in the morning. We had a "terrace" that was actually below a ramp to a parking garage....it was blocked, dirty and weird. The drapes were wrinkled, the furniture didn't fit the room, the wands on the drapes were bent?...it was just icky all over. We were visiting family with others and there rooms were a little better. Only there 36 hours so not worth moving but wouldn't stay there again. Very disappointing for a Courtyard by Marriot.

Pros: Great view, excellent location.
Cons: Tiny pool.
Location: Close to downtown, Halifax Feast Dinner Theatre, and the beautiful waterfront.
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff. Apparently I have to write more even though I hate being bothered it's this nonsense. How's this?

Great place but surprisingly awful bed

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Location and a very friendly staff
Cons: Perhaps it time to replace beds.
Location: The boardwalk is just a couple of blocks away. We've walked to Pier 21, the Citadel, Maine Maritime Museum, other museums, and breweries.
We've stayed in this hotel before and love its location and the staff. Courtyard is a good brand, and we know we can count on a certain level of comfort--especially a comfortable bed. This time, however, our bed sagged, really sagged. Sagged so badly that it was uncomfortable. And, on top of that, the sheets were thin and limp. Certainly now what we expect from Courtyard. I mentioned the bed to the clerk when we checked out, and she assured me that she'd have maintenance take a look. Humm. Not sure that will do much. Thing is, we equate Marriott brands with certain things--the top of which is a good firm bed with good quality linens. While our bed was good in May when we visited this particular hotel, it was lousy this time.
