Hotel service

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Location
It was in a nice area. The first room was very noisy, small and old. The room service was ok except that we had to wait over an hour for for a fork for my daughters meal By the time they brought it, it was to late. We shared the fork. Valet parking gentlemen were very nice.

Location: It is amazing, I will definetely will be back with my family to enjoy the enviroment and all the historic places there.
it was a nice experience my stay in the Delta, I went for business and was wonderful. Rooms, services and facilities are very good. The food and services in the restaurant are excellent. the hotel is very centric, close to the World Trade Convention Center and to the pier. Special mention to Sara at the restaurant, she is very smart and friendly.

Pleasant hotel in great location

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff.
Cons: Either provide advance notice or don't conduct extended fire alarm testing during the day - very disruptive when working!
The staff and room itself were excellent. Less pleasing was the smoke/fire alarm testing that lasted an hour mid-morning and the fitness facility that was temporarily unavailable.

Greetings! Thank you for choosing us on your recent visit. It's great to hear you enjoyed our accommodations and service levels. I apologize if the fire alarm caused you any inconvenience, however it was an actual fire alarm that had to be investigated by the fire department. When we do conduct testing, we ensure all guests are notified in advance to avoid any disturbances. We hope to have to opportunity to welcome you back again soon! Very best.

Right down town!

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: My hotel room was nice, big room and bathroom - very clean.
Cons: I only stayed one night - so all I can say is that if and when I go back to Halifax - I will be make reservations to stay at the Delta Barrington.
Location: The Scotia Square mall is across the road, there are all kinds of bars and restaurants to choose from all in minutes of walking.
It was a lovely hotel to walk into and the staff were so welcoming and informative. You are in walking distance of nice restaurants, shops and the casino!

Good location but rooms a little tired

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms decor tired
Location: The harbour and all the fun close by. Easy walk everywhere.
Nice people and lobby very nice. Rooms need a little update but I think they are working on that. Bathroom spacious with big counter. Good location. Woul stay again if the price is right. Only valet parking but it is cheap for valet $20. Can't easily get stuff from car though.

Convenient and pleasant downtown hotel.

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Staff are friendly, the location is excellent, the pool is a plus for kids.
Cons: It's downtown so paid parking is a must.
Location: The harbour front walk with boat tours and food stands, Art Gallery of NS, Citadel Hill fortress, tour province house, shopping.
I've stayed here a half a dozen times and have always had a good experience. This time I travelled with my 3 children and the front desk staff put me in a room right across from the pool, very nice. We were greeted with free cookies, and when I checked out at 5 am, the front desk person made me a large Starbucks coffee for my drive back to Ontario. The hotel is near all of the tourist attractions we like to visit as well as shopping. The lobby has undergone a recent renovation too.

Central location - wonderful staff.

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Staff and location.
Cons: It's a wee bit tired.
Hotel has no parking on-site and provides a valet service which is actually quite efficient and convenient. We stayed 2 nights to undergo eye surgery at a nearby Halifax hospital. We mentioned this in passing as we needed our van for a 6.45am appointment and room service brought two complimentary cupcakes to assist the recuperative process. Nice touch!

Delta Barrington

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The location of the hotel was very convenient.
Cons: Free Parking. Better access to the secure parking garage (Not the hotel's fault).
Location: Very Close to Downtown Shops, Historic Properties, Waterfront, Museums, 10 minute walk to Seaport Market.
The Delta Barrington is a very nice hotel located in downtown Halifax, very close to the waterfront, historic properties, and downtown shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was quite comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well. The kids really enjoy the pool. Cleanliness was excellent. The room included free wifi access (ok that's pretty much the standard now, but it was good and fast). The biggest Con about this hotel. There is no parking on-site. The closest available secure parking is at Scotia Square, located just across the street from the hotel, at which you must pay the going rate. Due to the road layout, in order to access the parking garage, you must drive past the parkade, merge onto Upper Water Street, turn left at an intersection and come back up Barrington Street. It is confusing and inconvenient for travelers who may not be familiar with driving in the city. The Delta Barrington offers valet parking for those who do not want the hassle, but it does cost more than doing it yourself. I specifically needed to be located in the downtown, which is why I chose this hotel. Next time, I will likely choose to stay at another hotel that would include free secure parking, at a cheaper rate.

Hotel close to the wharf

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Close to all tourist spots.
Location: Citadel Hill, The Harbour Wharf, Casino, Pier 21 Maritime Museum, Whale watching tours, sailboat tours, lots of restaurants and bars nearby.
Nice enough hotel but very dated decor, friendly staff, had to pay extra for parking everyday that I was there, pool was disappointing it was salt water which is fine but too much of it in the pool also no hot tub. Hotel is very close to the harbour and walking distance to Citadel Hill and other landmarks. In my opinion it more suited to a business traveller than a family.
