Very old hotel, rooms are like 1990 Holiday Inn

Pros: Staff and housekeeping were 5 star. Very helpful.
Cons: I understand the hotel was sold and will be remodeled in the future. Remodel is long over due
Location: Good location, right in the middle of things, all in walking distance.
Stayed 6 days, the rooms to me were not 4 star. Rooms like any other rooms, bathrooms were old fixtures.

Down town Halifax

Up graded to a suite with view of harbour upon arrival. Beautiful room with a fridge. Close to everything in the downtown...pedways. Really nice!

Great location but wouldn't come back

Although this hotel is in a great location, I would not go back. The desk staff were wonderful and we were upgraded to a King suite upon checkin. The bathroom was tiny and extremely tired with bad tiles and the room looked like it hadn't been renovated in 20 years with dated wallpaper peeling off the walls. It was impossible to get a comfortable temperature in the room, it was either too warm when the AC was off and freezing when it was on, regardless of the setting. It was a shame as the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Well-located hotel

Pros: Staff were friendly. The meal at the hotel (tentastic options for lunch) was very good and of great value.
Cons: We needed a cot for our room and the room was barely big enough to fit the cot along with the other furniture.
Location: The Citadel, the waterfront
Convenient location near the Citadel and waterfront. Also connected to indoor mall via "pedway" which we took all the way to the waterfront as the weather was not ideal during our visit.

Pros: Clean and a restaurant in there
Cons: The noise of the elevator
Location: All was right
Very polite and agreeable staff. Very attentive to my request of being changed rooms because of the noise of the elevator ( my room was by the elevator)

Downtown halifax, waterfront

Pros: Walking distance to everything, attatched to a mall with some fast food choices.
Cons: Cleaner rooms.
Parking was in a creepy, semi-abandoned parking structure undergoing construction. Confusing at first. Check-in was smooth, room had a view of the harbour. Bathroom was very tight, room was comfortable, but dusty.

Okay hotel downtown Halifax

Pros: I did enjoy the fact that I was able to get from the hotel to the WTCC without actually going outside in the rain.
Cons: parking
Location: Metro Centre (concerts); great food at Baton Rouge.
Being someone from out of town, I found this hotel to be more difficult to get to than I anticipated. The room was clean and suitable to our needs. I found that the wait staff in the dining room were friendlier than the staff at the registration counter.

Noisy

Pros: Staff was courteous and friendly.
The heating system went on and off and was really noisy. I found it hard on sleeping for any length of time.

Nice hotel and the staff was very nice

Our stay was very nice. It was the first weekend away for myself and my husband since our daughter was born 13 months ago. The staff were wonderful and very helpful as this was our first visit to Halifax. The only complante we had was that other people staying in the hotel were very disrespectful. We were not very happy when some drunk guy started bang on our door And the doors of the surrounding rooms at 3 am and kept it up for over 2 hrs. We had to call the front desk 3 times before it stopped. It is very unfortunate that adults can not act like adults when they have a few drinks!!!
