Halifax vacation visit

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Fabulous location one short block off of waterfront. Room had great view of waterfront. Hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, and easy walking distance to waterfront activities, casino. Parking and checking in a little confusing since you have to enter underground garage to check in if you have a car.

Great Hotel Downtown Halifax

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The hotel rooms are large and well equiped for all your needs. Also the room and bathroom are very clean and the beds are comfortable.
Cons: Check in can be a bit slow.
Location: The Metro Center and Neptune theater are just a short walk from this hotel. So is the waterfront where there are plenty of bars and shops.
This hotel is all about location. Right downtown walking distance to bars, restaurants and shopping. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

great location!

Pros: The appetizers in the afternoon were a nice touch. Clean rooms
Cons: A continental breakfast would have been nice.
Location: Close to the waterfront. We visited the Maritime Museum, Pier 21, Harbour Hopper tour, Keiths Brewery tour ,Citadel, Public Gardens.
The hotel was with in walking distance of all the attractions we visited. Pool was great for kids.

Great location

The location drew me in but the staff and lovely room were excellent as well. Great place to stay in Halifax; close to harbour front and all the action. I highly recommend this property!

Check in

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: It's central location in downtown Halifax. The rooms have been recently renovated and are very nice.
Location: The Halifax waterfront and it's many attractions is a short walk. There are many excellent Irish style pubs nearby.
After check in went to the room. I was disappointed to find the room not cleaned from the previous occupant. The hotel check in system indicated the room was ready for occupancy while clearly it was not. I had to wait in the hall with my bags while a new room was located for me. I have stayed in many hotels over the years. This experience was a first.

Great hotel if you just need a place to stay

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Room was great
Cons: Lack of services meant I had to go out at 10:30 to get dinner and a drink, For this price I would expect in house serevices
Location: Great area, great bars and restaurants all around but some times you just prefer top stay at your hotel.
The room was great, clean and quiet but for the price I would expect a hotel bar that is open past 10 PM or at least room service that was open past 10 PM. Great location but no services past 10 and the staff were actually arrogant about it.

Conveniently located with respect to restaurants, the waterfront, the Citadel, the Public Garden, etc. Updated and clean. Seems well-managed.

Okay, not great

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The beds, location and one free bottle of water every day (for two of us). The only friendly desk person gave us a break on the overnight parking.
Cons: Friendliness of staff was mostly lacking. The hotel has an old feel and the hallways are decorated in dark colors and poorly lit.
Location: In walking distance of the waterfront and downtown attractions like the Citadel and public gardens, as well as restaurants and shops.
The beds were the best part. Very comfy and each bed had four pillows with varying levels of plumpness to suit any taste. Bathroom was clean too. The staff was businesslike but not friendly except for the nice person who checked us in. The hotel is well located amid all the attractions downtown and the waterfront. If I ever returned, I would probably try another hotel though.
