Romantic night awayPosted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, close to downtown. Updated bathrooms and furnishings. Good price.
Cons: Update the pool area and clean it more often.
Location: Very convenient to downtown and the hotel is connected to the Halifax Link which ensures indoor walking to many shops and services.
Well appointed and updated room. The hotel would appear to use hot water heating due to the consistent sound of pipes banging in the walls all night long, not great for travellers looking for a sound nights sleep. The room was clean but the following morning we discovered a pair of earrings on the floor near the desk which then put the level of cleanliness into question. The pool area was a disappointment due to being generally untidy and really needing some improvements as there were rusty water deposits on the floor by the hot tub from a long neglected leak in the roof. The room service was great, the service and the food.

Center city posh...Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: comfortable room, Green efforts, room thermostat responds rapidly, good insulating curtains from light, cold, fridge in room...
Cons: soap dispensers difficult to use, always appreciate a robe
Location: lots of shops, restaurants, waterfront nearby within walking distance...
first time stay at the Prince George, recommended by brother who lives locally...nice facilities, professional staff, very comfortable room...easy parking direct to hotel lobby...area around hotel under construction...encountered two panhandlers when walking out hotel to grab grub...a bit menacing when walking solo at night...retreated to The Keg across the street...otherwise, would go back...

Nice hotel downtown HalifaxPosted Jan 4, 2015
Stayed here NYE and quite enjoyed it. Despite it being super busy the staff were lovely and pleasant. They have an underground parking which was a big plus on NYE (though it is an extra fee). Room was very clean. I would stay here again.

Rooms Need A Make OverPosted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Dog friendly
Cons: Stupid old sad dumb looking rooms with ugly furniture and pretty much no view either.
Location: Lots of things to do nearby but this hotel ISN'T on the waterfront and you need to go down a steep hill to get there walking.
For the kind of money they charge per night the room is outdated and unappealing. Ok, the bed was comfortable. We were booked for 3 nights – on the second night all the toiletries belonging to us were removed from the room as well as the remainder of our bottle of wine (we had purchased the in-room bottle) and almost a complete bottle of their water, which we were charged $3.50 for. I would ONLY recommend this hotel for visitors with DOGS, as the hotel appears to treat their dog guests better than their human ones. Run away – choose somewhere else...you'll be better off.

Excellent Hotel, Wonderful Staff!Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Staff! Food! Rooms! Hotel is classy!
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Staff continually check in with you to ensure your stay is great. Whoever is doing their recruitment and PD - good on you!
Location: world trade centre, shopping, casino, everything
This is my 2nd stay at the Prince George. I will return again. The experience is what makes the hotel different. You are referred to by your 1st name, you are always greeted with a smile, no request is too great. We hosted a conference there in October and everything from catering to room set up to check in to food, to service was superb! If you are planning a conference Barbara Broome is it!
