“Charming In Town Location”

Very nice hotel, provides parking in back. Must climb stairs to the rooms so be prepared. Staff very nice, excellent continental breakfast downstairs. Well appointed. Our room was somewhat small, but comfortable.

“Halifax's best boutique hotel”

The Halliburton is a set of three historic houses converted to a boutique hotel in Halifax near the old waterfront. All the charms of a small home, and the conveniences of a larger hotel with much more personalized service. Stories, the first floor restaurant, is excellent, and like dining at a friend's house.

“Excellent B&B”

Our room was very small. Next time, I would opt for a larger room. This was no one's fault but mine. The staff was wonderful, food good, and our room was very clean. Parking was included on site.

Events and shows
Anne of Green Gables should not be missed. It was extremely well done.

“Very Charming”

Ended a week throughout Nova Scotia with two days here. A perfect ending to the wild of the rest of Nova Scotia. Very sophisticated and charming. The garden in back was delightful.

“Superb, friendly service, great amenities nearby”

This place was great. Clean, pleasant rooms well decorated rooms with comfortable beds. Thick enough walls for real quiet, full array of cable channels, They have a restaurant and patio place for drinks and a fine Japanese restaurant next door. Near port tourism and shopping. And the continental breakfast was above average and dining room super pleasant. Newspapers provided. And lobby computer with printer provided for air check in. Halifax was great.

Area recommendations
Port tourism was great. Very good restaurants, good beer choices all around Halifax. It's a tad expensive, though. Not as bad as NYC, Chicago, or LA, but surprisingly expensive for a smaller city. Check out Trident Books (and espresso bar) or other good used book stores -- wish we had more of those in U.S.

“Happy Halliburton”

NIce small hotel. Felt like a bed and breakfast. Friendly staff. Showed extra care and did the little things that make a stay memorable. A few blocks from downtown proper, but easily accessible and slightly off the beaten track and that made it even more enjoyable.

“Very impressed”

We took the train in from Montreal, the Halliburton is a short walk away. We had decided not to rent a car and the hotel was in the perfect location a short distance to everything. Excellent Hotel, curtious staff, well appointed room, clean and beautiful. I would highly recommend it to friends and family. The matress was so comfortable we had to go out and buy a new one when we got home!

Area recommendations
This hotel was the perfect location to the waterfront, downtown and the public gardens. No need for a car, however they do have parking available.

“Suite (sweet) boutique”

I was upgraded to an adorable suite with a fireplace, lots of big windowseats. The fireplace was lit ,the bedroom was adorable, comfortable with delightful golden duvet and comfy sink-in-able pillows. The only thing that was worriesome was that the room had a real key (vs. a cardkey) and I wondered about the security. Alas no worries. The upholstery covering the couch and chair was a little old-fashioned, something just a little jazzier would have warmed up the room. I did get to check out another room as well, in one of the other buildings that are part of Halliburton, and one adorable bedroom was under the angled roof, with a skylight and the sweetest little extra bedroom (perfect if you were travelling with a child, teenager)... The hotel sitting room, while small, was marvelous and cozy with leather chairs, an inviting fireplace, a computer for internet access. The breakfast room was sweet, exactly all I needed. The staff was wonderful! funny, sweet, helpful, very welcoming. I would stay there again (oh! the parking is a bit behind the building and I never actually used it...the staff allowed me, a single woman, to park immediately beside the hotel instead which was so great . Next to the parking lot was a great blues club...fabulous music!..one block away a great coffee shop... all in all a great place to stay if you like a bed and breakfast or boutique hotel.

Area recommendations
I like Spring Garden Road with its coffee shops, movie theatre, and myriad of stores with little streets leading off of it to great restuarants like the Fireside...mmmm. As well there is a beautiul park to wander thru and everthng downtown is only about a 10 or 15 minute walk to the waterfront which is quite beautiful.
Traveler's tip
Fireside, just off Spring Garden Road and near the public library, remains my favourite place to stop and eat. The couches and ambience downstairs makes you feel comfortable whether you are there for a meal or just drinks. I love the fireplace and the staff is awesome...not to mention the food, which always brings me back.
