Great location and great service

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Really enjoyed our stay at The Lord Nelson. Staff was very friendly. The location was great for shopping and dining. Parking is in a locked underground parking garage which was great but a fee of 22$ was a little steep. Security guards at front door of hotel 24/7. Very safe an very beautiful hotel.

lord nelson

Pros: friendly staff, great location
Cons: explain the cost of parking at check-in. set the room temp to lower automatically at night.
Location: everything! anything!
The hotel was fine, but there were 2 things we didn't love: we thought parking was free and it turned out to be 25$ for the night. That was an unpleasant surprise. Also, the room temp. was set at 21 which was too warm for sleeping. In the middle of the night I woke up and turned it down to 18 but then the AC was blowing cold air with a loud fan, and I couldn't fall asleep again till 4 a.m. :( bummer

The bed was so comfortable. I had the best sleep!

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: The lobby and the room and the location!
Location: The location is perfect. So close to shopping and restaurants as well as night life!
Just a one night stay in the city to attend a John Fogerty concert. Our room was ideal. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever had at a hotel. Thanks so much for that.

Clean and Comfortable

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Staff, Location, Cleanliness.
Cons: Room decor can use an updating
Location: Great variety of restaurants, shops (lululemon to boutique type stores), Dalhouse University campus all within walking distance.
From beginning to end, my stay at the Lord Nelson was wonderful. The front desk, front door and concierge staff were all exceptionally helpful. Although the room decor is slightly dated, the room was so clean so it didn't really matter. The location is perfect- close to shops, restaurants, waterfront, Dalhousie campus. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would stay there again...my mom is booking it now for a few weeks from now.

Very Nice

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, just right.
Cons: $20.00 for breakfast is a little steep. They could also clean the grates on the vent ducts in the rooms. Pet peeve.
Location: Not too far from the downtown scene. medium walk, or $7.00 cab ride.
It's clear that there has been a lot of money spent renovating this place. The lobby is spectacular, the interior is well appointed, the room was great. It faces the municipal garden so it's like a mini-Central Park vibe. I was only there for 2 nights on business, but I would go back and stay for a holiday. Price was right, too!
