Great Hotel in the downtown of Halifax

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: It was in the downtown area and easy to get to.
We only stayed one night, but it was so comfortable and relaxing. The staff was A1 - very pleasant and engaging. We would definitely stay there again in a heart beat!

Convenient location

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds, clean, spacious rooms.
Cons: Fan vents in bathrooms, soundproofing.
Location: Closest to port, short walk to universities and Spring Garden district.
Mostly clean and pleasant. but the walls (at least in the new wing) are thin. My neighbors came in at 1:30 am and were talking loudly and I could hear everything. The staff were helpful in moving me to another room even though it was pretty full.

Lovely Stay.

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Very grand entrance with friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: I didn't love the comforter. Tended to fall off bed. Felt kind of lumpy.
Location: There are lots of things to do in the immediate area, including great restaurants, entertainment and shopping.
We stayed in a nice, clean room. The decor is is modern and sparse, with a large flat screen TV. The price of the room was more than reasonable. All around a great experience and would recommend the Westin in Halifax.

Great location-Westin Nova Scotian

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Enjoyable experience at the Westin Nova Scotia . Firstly location is great. Great view of the ocean, and the cruise ships as they come in the Halifax port. Pier 21 is a walk away and via rail is next door to the hotel. Also the Saturday market is great to see halagonian artisans and the local farmers sell fruit and vegetables. What a treat! It's a quick walk to Starbucks and st Mary's cathedral as well all the sites in beautiful quaint Halifax. Secondly, the hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There was always a friendly face at the lobby and entrance ready to answer questions. Thirdly, the room was comfortable and clean. I only spent the evenings in the hotel for sleeping and I had a good night's sleep each night. I recommend this hotel to all. Enjoy!

hotel with harbour view

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: employees
Cons: BATHROOM
Location: GREAT
nice place to stay, King room was a little smaller than antisipated. bathroom was small with outdated wall tiles. the real issue i had is the pool elevator. constantly hearing the noise. i guess our room was on the inside wall of the elevator shaft. very noisy.

Comfortable hotel.

Pros: Large comfortable room and welcoming staff.
Cons: Only complimentary water should be available in the room, as this caused some confusion.
Location: Downtown Halifax, lots of eateries nearby.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful at all times and were quick to respond to problems and queries.

Pros: The staff were great. The location is good.
Nice place to stay and convenient location. A little on the old side but that didn't take away from it being a nice place.

overpriced for service provided

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing. No bad experience, but pretty average for the price.
Cons: not enough space in this area. overall place needs some updating. better eating faciities.
Location: not close to other restaurants if you wish to walk except for a Tim Hortons. Close to boardwalk along harbour
Have stayed in many hotels all over the world and this place is highly over priced for what you get. $16 charge for parking in an outside lot? extra charge for internet in room. Have to go to lobby to get free internet. One robe for 2 people?, not a big deal if the room was not so expensive. Restaurant closed Sunday night. They call themselves a resort hotel and no where to eat Sunday night. Very small room for price charged. It is an OK room for the night but highly overpriced for what you get. Just an average hotel that tries to get a premium price. It is showing its age. The lounge for a drink could be cleaner. Had to go to desk at 3 PM and ask when the room was going to be cleaned after 1st night.
