We were touring some World War 1 sites just over the border, in and around Ypres. Not being able to get anything in the town itself, we opted to stay at this hotel instead. It was close, and was relatively cheap to other offerings nearer Ypres. We opted to have breakfast included, which was properly a mistake. The breakfast is very basic, and for the money, there are better options down the street. The rooms were large, comfortable and did the job nicely. The showers were very powerful, with good water pressure. The rooms were also nice and clean, good storage, and ultimately very comfortable.
Our biggest issue is that, in and around the hotel, there is NOTHING of note. This was fine for the most part, but given you have to drive everywhere, and the hotel bar closes before 10pm, it meant we couldn't venture out for a few drinks before calling it a day. A real shame. Ultimately, the fact that the surround area has no cafes, bars or restaurants open past, what seems liked, 8pm, was a shame. However, that's not the fault of the hotel, and ultimately it was a very comfortable stay, the hosts were great, and it was very good value for money.
