My stay is comfortable but the only thing ti suggest is there is no hot water all the time for your tea if you need them the bartender always said no more hot water all finished so you will until meal has to be serve

Great Overnight Halong Trip (worth the price)
My wife and I stayed in one of the cabins with a terrace overnight and really enjoy it. From the terrace we took so many beautiful pictures of the bay. The cabin was clean and the bathroom had a spa tub that worked. The cabin had a nice big window right in front of the bed where we could just lay in bed and still see the bay mountains. We enjoyed the food and thought the whole cruise was great. So, we recommend Gray Line Cruises. I looked at a lot of cruises and decided that this one seemed a good price for being highly recommended by many of their other customers. And, we were very glad we did.

Great tour, great staff
Overall we had a great tour, highly recommend it. We got the transfer from Hanoi, picked up at the hotel by a cheery guide called Sunny Day, who was fantastic and helpful throughout the whole trip. The crew were very polite and again helpful. The room was comfortable. Great value for money.

Cruise is definitely the best way to see the area, as there’s not a lot to do otherwise. It is very good value for money, considering the activities you get to experience and the amount of food you get. We stayed for 2 days/1 night and got to hike Ti-top island, kayak through Lyon cave and visit the largest cave discovered in Halong bay. We were fed 4 times in total; lunch on arrival, dinner, early morning breakfast and light lunch before departure. The room on the cruise is adequate and clean enough. Obviously not 5* hotel standard but it is in line with a small cruise expectation. One thing to be mindful of drinks is not included, you get one bottle of free water each in the room but everything else is billed at the end of the stay. The prices of alcoholic drinks are normal London prices so do not expect the Vietnam prices. I would recommend this tour to my friends & family and would be happy to go on the cruise again.

We did the 2 night stay and was well worth it! Well organised with a good mix of relaxation and activities. The drinks are needlessly very pricey on the boat, the same as we would pay at home (only place in Vietnam where we encountered this - even on our day trips around the bay the drinks were half the price). You should keep track and be careful with the offers as our bill was wrong at the end! Food was good BUT we got food poisoning on the last day so be careful what you eat on the last morning - we suspect food wasn’t stored properly from leaving the port the day before. This meant we lost a day of holiday recovering. Despite the negatives, this was a good trip with lots to do and very friendly and fun staff.

The scenery was spectacular. The boat was a little bit aged but fine and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and although they were busy they always found time for you if you needed it. Overall a very lovely 3 days.

The experience is great! With an additional top-up for another kid of 5 yr-old, our room was set-up with additional single bed which made the night stay very comfortably. Our private terrace was awesome! We can enjoy great view from the private terrace with peace of mind once our kids were asleep! Tour guide, cabin captain and crews were friendly, helpful and attentive! As for food wise, it would be great if there were more variety added to include Asian food option for the Dinner. Overall, this is a a great cruise experience!

We truly enjoyed our 2 day trip on the Gray Line Halong Cruise, the staff are incredibly attentive and always willing to help. We were very grateful that they made every effort to accommodate their food to our vegetarian requirements. The boat itself is very comfortable, we went for the cabin with private terrace which was absolutely worth the views and privacy!! Excellent value for money specially when you look at other boats in the area.

We enjoyed our (short) time with Gray Line. We had a room with a balcony and a terrace and absolutely loved it--it was clean, comfy, spacious enough, and had unbeatable views. Meals provides were also good and varied. With that said, the itinerary felt slow at some points (unnecessarily long rest stops, too much time spent at Titov Island) and hurried at others (kayaking, where we would've appreciated more than half an hour). It seems that all the cruise lines now follow the same itinerary and the results are inescapable crowds. However, had we been more judicious in where we allocated time, I think we could've found pockets for reduced crowds and more leisure time for things like kayaking and cave sightseeing. Overall, Gray Line offers a good service and the landscape is incredible but it made me profoundly sad to feel like one among the masses and as a result I'm glad we only did 1 night. Lam, our tour guide, was kind, funny, and knowledgeable!

We had a really nice experience with the cruise from the pick-up at our hotel until they dropped us off again. Our guide and boat staff were very friendly and helpful. Our boat appeared to be nicer than many of the other boats. The food was excellent. My only knock was that they run a very tight schedule (as do all the cruises) so I felt a bit rushed at each stop. Overall I thought this one was a good balance between price and quality.

Let us wait for shuttle bus for almost two hours and the buses they provided r shabby and the seats r too narrow. I reserved family cabin with private sundeck, but the staff didn’t tell other passengers not to go inside.

In fact, on your travel date, I heard you checked out at around 11:30 and the shuttle bus picked up you at approximately 12:30. I understand you have to wait for 1 hour and it may not happy to waste time like this. However, I hope you can sympathize that this is shuttle bus service, not flexible private car so we have to follow the general calendar. Our guide also notify this before hand but finally, I sympathize your annoyed of being wait for 1 hour and we are so sorry for this. About your private sundeck, even though this problem rarely happen at our cruise for long time, this is actually our staff’s mistake. I also would like to send you a sincere thanks for your straight feedback and your time to share your comment. It plays an essential role for us to notice our weakness and improve our service better and more professional. You hear so many stories about dodgy Halong bay cruises. This isn’t one of them. I had a cabin with a balcony on level 2, it was spacious, clean and private. Would definitely recommend This trip with Gray Line.

Enjoyed the cruise very much
Room very comfortable. I pick the room with balcony which give us privacy while enjoying the view of Halong Bay. Food is good. Activity arranged was also good but could be better if the bamboo boat activity a bit more longer. Staff is very good and friendly.

Sailing on a small boat
I booked the bigger ship originally, but few days before the trip they sent me email telling they were overbook and upgrade me to a room with terrace, but I didn't know that they moved me & my friend to a small boat, which is quite quiet and less facility and fun. I booked a two days one night cruise, but honestly I don't think we need the one night. Ha Long is ok, it's just like Trang An, Tam Coc or Guilin but on the water. The cave they brought us to was nothing too spectacular, just like you can see in many limestone caves in the world, like in Guilin, Gibraltar, etc. Overall, it's worth to go, but a day trip would probably enough

Highlight of our trip to Vietnam!
Our overnight Halong Bay cruise with Gray Line was undoubtedly the highlight of our family's time in Vietnam. Spectacular scenery and a relaxed atmosphere enhanced by our wonderful, informative, efficient and entertaining tour guide, Trang. Excellent food - and plenty of it! We booked a family suite with private sundeck which was perfect. The only negative was that the trip was over too quickly for us to enjoy relaxing on the sundeck for long! I would highly recommend this tour, especially on one of the smaller Gray Line boats.

Scenary was fantastic....cruise so so
The boat itself was fairly decent, but this can’t be a true review since we got the VIP room with deck. Non-existent WiFi, so I️ wouldn’t count on it. The itinerary seemed like a lot, but was filled with a lot of “fillers.” Cooking class was just spring rolls, which lasted all of 5 minutes. Squid fishing was just stick a pole off the back of the boat. They did have kayaking, which was the highlight!

Nothing could beat the view
The view and Itinerary were fantastic. Bed could be a bit softer but all in all we had an excellent stay.

One of the best
Definitely worth a stay. Brilliant staff, lots of food (seriously, don't snack before dinner. You won't be hungry for 24 hours after), great itinerary. Even though we left a bit late due to the authorities needing to double check paperwork, they managed to work it out so we didn't miss any activities, which we originally though was going to be the case. Long was a fantastic leader and made sure the experience was fun from start to finish, while adding humour along the way. Would strongly recommend getting the Gray Line pick up as well. It is reasonable, efficient, and makes the whole thing less stressful by ensuring you'll be at the right boat at the right time. An unforgettable experience.

Good cruise but let down by transfer, aircon
Great cruise and happy with the choice I made following lots of research. Food and service were great and activities well chosen. We did the 3 day 2 night cruise which was perfect as the time to transfer from Hanoi nearly 5 hours so a long way to go for one night. The only downsides were lack of aircon in the dining room (very hot) and any form of cooling on day boat (they had fans but were only on during lunch). The transfer also could have been better we had to wait to be picked up (45 mins late) and then 1 hour wait for transfer back to Hanoi off the boat in a hot waiting area.

Fantastic few days
Long was our guide he was very informative and funny. $25 dollars each for transfer from Hanoi and back a bargain. Can't say how good the cruise was. Food was excellent and they cater for anything allergies etc. Room was immaculate and beds comfy. Excursions like kayaking, walking to pagoda, caves even squid fishing. Would go back in second.

A journey that is closer to heart
We took 2days 1 night package with Gray Line Cruise and we got no regret over choosing them for our Halong bay trip. The cruise, staffs, tour guide, room, service and food are too good for the money we spent. We booked a room with a private balcony and 2 chairs, so we spent some hours star gazing and chilling at night. It is a perfect choice for those couples who are looking for a lovely private moment. As we stayed for our wedding anniversary, they offered us with a lovely room decoration and a complementary cake during the dinner time. We celebrated our anniversary with the fellow cruisers and the celebration would always be in our memories for life long. We had a great time during the stay in the cruise and also visiting the islands tour in Halong bay. Gray Line Cruise is the best option for having a great time in Halong bay.

You get the feeling that they are trying to drain the tourist. Everything is in dollars although the local currency is dongs, extra charge for credit card. Because of a traffic accident our shuttle to the cruise was delayed and instead of giving us an option they charged us 100 for a speedboat, with other tourists. Even the water was costly in the boat. The rooms were absolutely amazing, but you don't feel satisfied if they charge you for everything

Really lovely cruise
Great cruise - would highly recommend! Staff were lovely and very attentive. Definitely would recommend two nights, three days options - on the second day you get to do more secluded activities.

The kayaking is cancelled without any advance notice. And this cruise does not bring you to another sport for evening swimming. So you end up have a lot of free time. And the wifi is very bad and I cannot even play my phone. I am a bit bored on this 2 day 1 night cruise.

An overnight cruise round the beautiful Halong Bay in N. Vietnam. The cabin was amazing, the food excellent, and the guide lovely. Recommended!

Explore Halong Bay on Gray Line Cruise
Gray Line Cruise provides an end to end experience of comfort and luxury. The cabins were comfortable and clean, the food was exceptional and the staff was highly attentive. We loved the tour and activities that ranged from hiking, kayaking to Tai Chi. Everything went very smooth with the Cruise as well as the transportation to and from the hotel. I highly recommend Gray Line Cruise.

It was difficult to find a decent cruise going to Halong Bay on hotels.com that was both nice/luxurious and yet affordable. This is the one we ended up going with. It was definitely comfortable and pretty, but there were some things that I wish were different. The meals were average, some were better than others. The rooms were pretty clean (we splurged for the room with the balcony and sitting area, and it was so nice...however the one night cruise is so rushed that you barely have time to enjoy it). I would recommend two nights since the itinerary is so rushed. They have a tour guide on the boat and the ship has a set itinerary for the guests...which has it's pros and cons. It was nice having the guidance on what to do and where to get off, but it all felt very rushed. If you are on a budget but still want a nice ship, then go with this one. If you are set on luxury and amazing food, then I would splurge for another boat...but definitely do the two days.

Very good experience
I am very glad that we choose Gray Line for our overnight trip. Overall we had a very good experience and we enjoyed the stay. Here is my quick review: 1. Transportation - I believe that the price of $25 per person is very high considering that we had to squeeze in a car for 7 hours on the way there (were the first pick-up at 7:30 am and arrived closer to 2:30 pm) and almost 4 hours on the way back. The van is stopping on the way there and back at a tourist trap which is a huge shopping are with overpriced products. In return, the driver and tour guide are getting free meals and free car wash (I am sure that the company can afford to pay their own employees food and avoid stopping at this tourist trap). The driver on the way there was horrible, drove 35 KMH all the way and made us arrive 2 hours late which means that the first day was more condensed. 2. Boat - the boat is great a bit older but has everything that you need 3. Room - we took the suite which had privet deck which was nice but since we were on the boat for 20 hours not including island trips we didn't get much time to enjoy it 4. Food - IT WAS GREAT! so much food and they were very sensitive to my allergies! not sure why people complained about it. we couldn't finish our meals! 4. Tips: bring your own beer and water on the boat and avoid paying crazy prices on the boat. No need to pay 2 suite
