the people at the reception were friendly and ready to help. Although the area is dirty and with strange people around especially during night. The hotel was safe but the area is not so good

Hotel is nice, clean, and located a short walk to a street with many good restaurants and from the Central Station in Hamburg. Also a short walk to a beautiful lake and we enjoyed our evening walks around the lake. Staff are friendly and upgraded us to a nice room with views when we told them we are not happy with the room we were given at the check-in. Breakfasts are really great and offer variety of foods. I highly recommend this hotel.

Weekend stay in Hamburg !!
Nice hotel close to underground, only one stop from main station. Well organised, has everything in the room that you need. Pleasant stay. Lot of Turkish eateries around.

Disappointing and humiliating
By check in the desk lady announced to us, with a great apology, that the 4.5-star Arcotel Rubin was totally overbooked and hence she'd send us over to 3-star hotel suite. I wouldn't accept her offer which made her respond that by my refusal I was welcome to find another accommodation in town at my own expense. We had driven 11 hours from Denmark including over a 3-hour traffic jam on highway 7 on account of a horrible accident so I was forced to accept her degrading. To cut the story short it was not only a rather disappointing but also a humiliating experience for the desk lady offered me no compensation at all. I had stayed in the Arcotel before and enjoyed their standards but this miserable affair would make me wanna warn my fellow travellers against this hotel. I hope Hotels.com will follow up on this incident professionally.

Dear Andrew, thank you for taking time to give us a feedback. A double bed in our hotel has two mattresses, this can also be seen on our website. Unfortunately we do not have a king-size bed that has a continuous mattress.

I didn’t even stay here. The computing system was down so they cancelled my booking and wouldn’t let me stay despite showing them my reservation number but Expedia still took the money from my bank account.

every hotels front desk is matter the people who represent the hotel like four star , I can’t say it’s four-star hotel. I stayed in money for star hotels , stag was kindly and you feel you are a guest but in this hotel you have to say please give me a nice room and they look to you like they are giving for free for you. At the bottom or in the shower room where all old towels, this towels even you can see in one star hotel no other cleaning Things like soap ......or other stuff required for. When I asked for it they say we do those things for bigger rooms I don’t know why my room not required to have service things as a four-star hotel has .
