Fantastic hotel for business or family
Such a fantastic hotel. Staff so friendly. Rooms so modern and of a great size. Good location for train station and getting around the area/ to airport. Multi purpose hotel - ideal for business/ conferences but also for a family trip.

Always a great stay
Always a pleasure to stay here. Lovely comfy rooms, FANTASTIC breakfast and a great cosy type room to host business visitors. Has a supermarket and a selection of shops five min walking distance which is very useful.

Great AC and room.
Most German hotels are more concerned about saving money than actually providing a cool comfortable room so we appreciated this hotel. Also great size room with mini bar and free parking.

Fantastic Unique Hotel
The Gastwerk is a unique hotel, rooms are large and comfortable and everything is very clean. The restaurant and bar on site are fantastic as well. Definitely a great place to stay.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. We loved the hotel bar and whilst the breakfast was expensive, it was excellent.

Staff kept trying to enter my room
The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room is well-appointed. However, there were many problems: I was awoke by a knock on the door and people opening my door. It was staff asking about restocking my mini bar. I had to tell them twice I was fine and to leave me in peace. The "do not disturb" sign was present. An hour later, as I was dressing after my shower, a man knocked and tried to open my door. It was maintenance -- I had not called and had no issue. I threw on a dress and told him he was in the wrong room. I tried to call reception FOUR TIMES, with no answer. I let it ring for a minute each time. I was very upset by someone trying to get into my room repeatedly -- hours before the checkout time and with the "NO"/do not disturb sign up. As a woman traveling alone, this was scary. I do NOT recommend this hotel. They were of little help or concern when I checked out since I paid through Hotels.com. When I left, there was very loud construction happening in the lobby. (Grinding of metal, with dust.) It was hard to hear the staff.

We just checked out today from an extrordinary weekend. We are from Hamburg and were looking for a special place to spend our wedding night. We were looking for something high class, but individual and our expectations were topped in everyway. We had a spacious XL loft, which reminded me ouf Vegas space. We had a great second evening at the cocktail bar and the breakfast was also above par. We are planning to make it an annual stay and are very thankful for a great time. Michael Cagna

Magnificent design hotel
Such an impressive building. Room 168 was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable I looked to see who it was made by. Very handy for the motorway. The restaurant was closed as it was Sunday but we had a scrumptious burger in the funky bar. Great service too.

Superb stay
The amenities are superb! The industrial touch combined with great design made our stay unique. Free parking was a big plus as we traveled with a car and a trailer. Great service.

Kind of fun for a serious trip!
I chose this hotel as it was very near the Asklepios Klinik Altona, so it was not a fun trip for me. However, the Gastwerk Hotel made my stay there comfortable and kind of fun with its quirky interior and unique style.

Just simply the worst ever!!!
Extremely bad!!! One of my worst hotel accommodations ever. I usually stay around 100 days a year in Hotels allover the world and this one tops the worst ever. Rude employees, the beds are not even worth mentioning. And overall whatever shines is not gold. I will never stay there again and i do recommend people to avoid this Hotel.

Take one historic industrial building, build a great quality hotel inside the huge interior and provide an artistic overview...and even the food is good and moderately priced for the quality. What's not to like...fabulously unique and ten times better than a formulaic chain hotel.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit Industriecharme. Unser Fenster war mit Blick zur Lobby. Das macht lüften etwas schwierig. Ansonsten sehr geräumige saubere Zimmer. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
